Stored used electronics are also considered E-Waste. Inappropriate dispensation of E-Waste can lead to dangerous human health effects and environmental pollution.
Anything which is measured as Electronic Waste has a Lifetime Profile which differs for different categories of Electrical and Electronic devices. Lifetime Profile contains the information about dangerous quantity present in waste items, economic value and the effects on environment and health of people if they are not recycled properly. Any application that runs on electricity has the probable to cause damage to the environment if it is not disposed correctly. Mutual things of electrical and electronic waste are:
• Large household appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, televisions, etc.
• Small household appliances which contain toasters, coffee makers, irons, hairdryers, etc.

• Electronic or Electrical tools like handheld drills, saws, screwdrivers etc.

• Automatic dispensers.
How to Minimize E-waste?
The manufacturing of devices and the use of rare materials that go into their production represent a vast source of embodied energy. Minimizing e-waste helps to preserve resources and decreases the amount of energy take from the earth. Reusing the precious metals and plastics in old cell phones alone instead of making more of them would save as much energy as flipping off the power to 24,000 homes for an entire year. The typical household has 24 electronic devices and in 2009 the EPA estimated that there are 2.37 million tons worth of electronics ready to be disposed of.
• Re-evaluate: Try finding one device with multiple functions.
• Spread the life of electronics: Buy a case, keep device clean, and avoid overcharging the battery.
• Buy environmentally friendly electronics: Look for products labeled Energy Star or certified by the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool.
• Donate used electronics to social programs: Help victims of domestic violence, children safety initiatives, environmental causes, and more.
• Recycle: Electronics and batteries in e-waste recycling bins located. Large electronics can go in the larger bins found in building.
E-waste awareness training will deliver knowledge and awareness of E-waste, with its types and ways of management, which will be useful for safeguarding our health and environment. This E-waste awareness training will help to gain knowledge and understanding of E-waste, its classification, sources, and impacts on humans and the environment as well as E-waste related all important international conventions/ laws/directives.
