Children's Wetsuits
Kids love to wear wetsuits! But as a parent, are you confident that you know your Shorty from your full?
Shorty' and 'Full' styles have identical bodies and children's wet suits are unisex, so that makes things a little easier! The only difference between a 'shorty or full' is the lengths of the arms and legs. Wetsuits are warm just like extra warm swimsuits which serve to keep you and your family safer and warmer and so help you have more fun for longer in the sea. They are essential clothing wherever you enter the water in the United Kingdom, whatever your age as lets face it, our waters are pretty cold mostly. It's a good idea to consider purchasing them before you go on holiday! Don't wait until you're shivering and blue from cold on the beach and watching people in wetsuits looking warm and comfortable in the water! Why should the surfers have all the fun and warmth, they have hogged the wetsuits for far too long - it's time us and our kids got the chance to enjoy that kind of comfort too!
I would strongly advise a parent to buy (perhaps online) before the holiday and not dash into the nearest surf shop on ...
... arrival, hoping that you will be able to find them well priced and in the size that you need! Which style of wetsuit you choose depends on how much time you intend to spend in the water, and how cold you expect the water to be! Many children just wear shorties for activities like swimming lessons (as often do the teachers), to keep them toasty in under heated public swimming pools, and to add a little buoyancy, aiding them to swim much easier. Shorties are fine for splashing around in the shallow end and for a little extra warmth if you're in the Mediterranean. Shorties are also great for kids as they are extremely easy to get in and out of and fast.
Full suits are noticeably warmer because the long sleeves and legs reduce the flow of incoming water and warm it before it reaches your body. If you intend to swim or spend hours in the water, then for most British holidays a Shorty is although better than a regular swim suit, just simply won't cut it. If you purchase a full wet suit a bit before your holidays, the kids can have fun practising getting in and out of them and children learn to do this fast and relatively easily. They can be found in all sorts of bright and funky colours and you can find a really great range to choose from at http://www.shore2surf.co.uk/ kids love them and they are a great buy in this mums opinion. Bet it won't be long before mum and dad think of treating themselves to a wet suit of there own, once they see how much the kids love them!
