Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are bacterial, viral, and fungal infections of the respiratory tract that are highly contagious. It spreads from one person to another through inhalation or contact with infected droplets released into the air while coughing, breathing, talking, sneezing, etc. RTIs are frequently acute infections affecting the upper and lower respiratory airways.
