The Super Mario Movie is a computer-animated film that is expected to release in 2023. Illumination and Nintendo have now declared that the Mario movie is expected to release in 2023, making the next spring exciting.

Miyamoto said that the team working hard for the set release has decided to delay this Super Mario movie. Both he and he and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri, who happens to be the co-producer, have jointly made the decision to delay the release.

He tweeted that after a long consultation with his partner at Illumination- Chris-san, they have come to a decision to delay the release of the Super Mario Bros. film. They have also partnered with Universal Studios and have decided to postpone the global release of the movie to April 7, 2023, in North America and April 28, 2023, in Japan. The tweet stated that they are very excited to bring this incredible film to reality. With amazing stars like Guardians of the Galaxy fame, Chris Pratt is all set to voice Super Mario. Charles Martinet is the main voice that brings Mario and other Mushroom Kingdom characters to life in the famous video games. He will also play several cameos in the movie.

Why does the delay matter?
The latest delay can have a hit on the company’s biggest projects that were supposed to reposition the gaming giant. The company had also announced its expansion into theme parks which later slowed due to the pandemic.
