The Portland Trail Blazers have been blessed over the past decade by the presence of superstar Damian Lillard. However, they managed to draft another talented guard back in 2018, Anfernee Simons. Now, he is finally breaking out and showing his star potential.

Affectionately called ‘Ant’, the young guard from IMG Academy has grown into a player with a bright future because of his mix of elite athleticism and a sweet shooting stroke. He has shown glimpses that he is similar to his mentor in Lillard as he showcased so far in the 2021-22 season while Dame is injured.

With this mix of physical tools and talent, Ant is a fan favourite among Blazers fans. He was drafted in 2018, but he is still one of the youngest players on the team at just 22 years of age. Many are calling him the successor to Dame and rightfully so. Ant has learned so many lessons under Dame and you can see that in his play with his dribble moves and playmaking.

When you’re playing games in a crypto casino, there might be a basketball game that might be on the television. Ant is the type of player who can capture your attention and keep ...
... it for the rest of the game. He is a mercurial talent who deserves to be recognized.

Ant knows his faults and he works on them

Ant is not a perfect player as evidenced by his lack of consistent headlines. That is a given fact for Blazers players apart from Dame and now-former teammate CJ McCollum. However, Ant is still a raw talent that still needs sharpening. He is a player with limitless potential but he can make some bad mistakes from time to time.

Take for example on defence, Ant is easily exploitable because he tends to foul a lot. This is most likely due to his small frame but some players in the past have defended well with a slender frame like Gary Payton. Ant needs to be smarter on defence so that he can stay on the court more and help Dame.

He is also known for chucking up shots but under Dame, he has learned to tone that down so he can play more in control and within the system. Hopefully, Dame’s influence can keep affecting him to the point when they can work together as a backcourt.

Ant has shown flashes of superstardom

Ant will be the point guard of the future by then and he will have the lessons from Dame and CJ to look back on. He has the potential to be an All-Star when he puts it all together. He has the shooting and athleticism but he has to work on other parts of his game like playmaking which he is improving in.

Ant can create his shot while also making plays for his teammates. He is a Dame copy in the most positive way possible. You can expect him to be a star moving forward because coach Chauncey Billups and Dame have given him the blessing to work as a primary piece in their plans. If you are playing games in a crypto casino like https://bitcasino.africa/cryptocurrency/, you might have to take some time away just to watch this team.
