Education is a powerful medium to uplift the society in a sustainable way. It not only enables reading and writing, but also nurtures innate skills and talents in children for their overall development. An educated child grows up to be a more equipped and abled adult and have the competence to earn a better living as compared to an uneducated child. Self-dependent and resourceful adults greatly contribute to their own personal well-being as well as to the overall nation’s progress. However, due to disparity in socio-economic status, not all children get the privilege of going to school or pursuing higher education. To help such children, the government and many child and education-centric NGOs have initiated several education schemes including scholarship for underprivileged students.

Vidya Chetana, a Scholarship Program by Youth for Seva has been enabling education for socio-economically underprivileged and differently-abled children since 2009.
