Thinking About A New Mobile

A basic, no strings attached, pay as you go mobile can be quite an attractive prospect. You needn''t worry about getting the regular bills or that moment when you receive the monthly bank statement, because you''ll have been in complete control of everything you''ve spent on your phone.
But this kind of simplicity leads to technological drawbacks as well. Generally speaking, a pay as you go handset isn''t going to be anywhere near as cutting edge as a smart-phone will be, or if it is then it will cost a bomb to buy upfront. And there''s no way of saying for sure whether a monthly bill will actually even cost more than a pay as you go phone.
Not all pay monthly schemes will financially drain you dry, and you''ll often be able to get a cutting edge new phone model free when you sign up. All that leaves you with is the tricky decision of what deal to settle for, and what kind of handset you want.
The diversity of Blackberries on offer is not to be sniffed at. Some models come with physical QWERTY keyboards and number pads or full touch screens, while yet others look like more normal, everyday handsets, and ...
... they all share similar resources and aspects.
Internet access is what smart-phones do best: whether you''re on a train, in a cafe or just walking through the street, you''ll be able to get online pretty fast. The fact that you can hook up your email, Facebook and Twitter accounts to alert you when you receive anything show that it''s as much a social phone as an important work tool.
The reason why smart-phones will keep improving is that consumers need more and more from their mobiles. What''s particularly impressive is how they''ve come on recently in terms of their multimedia capabilities: a phone bought even just a couple of years ago will pale by comparison to a more recent model.
Just in terms of internal memory size, things have come a long way, with many smart-phones now boasting up to 16GB, bigger than many personal music devices. Camera technology has improved as well, and quite a few handsets have HD photo and video abilities, as well as plenty of room for MP3s.
If you think a pay monthly contract will provide another unwanted and unneeded bill, then by all means stick to a pay as you go system. But when the potential benefits of getting a pay monthly smart-phone are taken into account, it may be worth taking making the move from simple mobile to high-tech handset.
