Uttarakhand, a hilly state in northern India is known for its stunning landscapes, misty mountains, enchanting nature, mesmerising history, and the holiest rivers. Uttarakhand’s charismatic beauty cannot be put into words as its elegance is deep-rooted in almost everything. Popularly known as Devbhoomi or the land of Gods, Uttarakhand faces massive damage due to heavy rainfalls today.

Torrential rains have led to disaster and chaos across the state with flooded roads, landslides, hail storms, speedy winds, lightning and overflowing water bodies. Houses, bridges and a few villages are swept away due to the rise in the water levels, threatening the lives and survival of inhabitants.

Rescue Operation
The calamity has claimed many lives so far, while some are still missing and many have been injured. In the devastating landslides, nearly 224 houses were damaged. Rescue operations are being conducted in various parts of the state. Uttarakhand Police collaborated with SDRF to set up a Flood relief camp for the flood-affected victims. Food and medical essentials are being provided to the victims in the camp. ...
... Many people are raising funds online to feed the hungry and support the flood survivors, while some contribute to Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). The resources from CMRF are utilized to render immediate relief to the families of those killed in the natural calamity.
85% of the district in Uttarakhand is vulnerable to extreme flooding. Farmers have suffered major losses, and the loss of agriculture and allied livelihoods has put their lives at the risk of deprivation and loss. During such a horrific situation, many NGO’S and other organizations strive hard to assist in recovery from the impact of floods by raising flood donations. Likewise, Akshaya Patra - an NGO based in India is also doing its part to provide the basic necessity to flood-affected victims.

Paropa karyardham edam sareeram
This is an Ancient shloka that translates to, ‘Our body is meant for helping others without expecting anything in return.’ Helping others is a blessing in disguise. When we help others to grow, we grow eventually. In this misfortunate situation, let’s come forward to extend our help in the flood relief work. Donate to NGO and make the most of your money, because it directly impacts the victims, positively. Contribute how much ever is possible from your end to Akshaya Patra; your donation will help to provide food and comfort to the affected families. Your support will help the Foundation to help more people during crises. Self-satisfaction makes life worth living. Donate to NGOs and be a ray of hope for the flood-affected people.
