Natural resources refer to the resources available in nature and used by human beings for commercial purposes. Vegetation Management:

Vegetation management is one of the most costly and time-taking activities that is undertaken by an electric utility. It is all about the response towards the excessive vegetative cover, which threatens power lines and grids. Unchecked vegetation often acts as a hindrance to electricity supply, leading to frequent outages and power failures.

Vegetation Management is an end-to-end solution to identify and analyze the state of vegetation across a specific service territory and preventing power outages by controlling the vegetation overgrowth.

There are various ways through which vegetation management can be done:

• Pruning: Through pruning, the healthy trees having potential to grow close to powerlines are pruned or trimmed. The tree branches are directed away from the power lines without reducing the structural integrity of the tree.

• Weed control: This is a very effective way to get rid of unwanted vegetation. There are certain herbicide and anti-weed chemicals that can be used for the purpose. These are more cost effective however, on the flipside, weed control can be done only for low vegetation, not tall trees.

• Removal: If a tree is declared weak, hazardous and likely to fall, then it has every chance to cause power outage by snapping power lines. To prevent such incidents, these trees are removed by professionals in vegetation management.

This is pretty self-explanatory; land management refers to the management of land or land resources. Otherwise, this can be depicted as using land resources to meet the changing human needs and simultaneously ensure long-term socio-economic and ecological functions of land.

Land management deals with the land resources that are used by human beings for a variety of purposes. It advocates for the responsible use of resources in order to keep the land healthier while preserving ecological diversity and protecting the environment.
