How To Plan An Indian Menu With A Personal Chef

Going on a personal holiday to Kerala, Goa, on your favorite ship, or a chartered plane? You have spent lakhs of rupees, by hiring your personal chef. Since you have spent so much money on hiring a private cook, it is essential, that, you must give him your favorite Indian menu, which must contain all the most loved and nutritious dishes. If you love homemade food or frozen food, then you must give the exact meals to your personal Chef.One very important thing to notice is that along with the cook, you will be hiring a helper, who is usually, very cheap in India. Now, let us give you the basic steps, for meal planning, when you are on a holiday.

1) Meal Planning

Assuming, that you will be going for a week, on a holiday, you can check out this meal plan.

a) You must create categories, like dals, pulses, biryani, curries, side dishes, one-pot meals, and rice dishes, respectively. Add the favorite recipes of your family, under every category.

b) You must assign a theme, for a particular day, in the week. You must utilize, the categories, above, for ...
... choosing a particular theme, and then, for a particular day, you must pick a particular recipe, from that category. To cite a simple example,

• Monday – Dal.
Dal can be of many types, such as Dal Fry, Sambar, Rasam, Dal Tadka, with additional side dishes, along with Roti and Rice.

• Tuesday – Paneer

Paneer dishes can be of different types, such as Matar Paneer, Palak Paneer, Paneer Makhani along with Rice, or Chapati.

• Wednesday – Vegetable Gravy

Vegetable gravy can consist of Potatoes or other special dishes, like Aloo Methi, Dum Aloo, Aloo Matar ) besides Chapati and Daal.

• Thursday – Pulses

Pulses are of various types like Channa Masala, Mung, Rajma, Chowli, along with Chapati or Rice.

• Friday – A single meal

The single meal can be of any type, like Khichdi, Pasta, Vegetable Biryani respectively.

• Saturday – Chicken

Chicken can be of different types, such as Biryani or Curry, along with parathas or rice.

• Sunday - Seafood
Seafood can be of different types, such as Shrimp Curry, Fish Curry, and Shrimp Biryani respectively.
If interested, you can use meal planning software, such as Prepar, where, you will be able, to create your grocery list. Alternatively, you can utilize an excel meal planning template, and fill, it in each week.

2) Preparing the meals

There are plenty of chores, which you must instruct your cook, to do, for preparing your meals, very quickly. Now, let us check out the various steps, to make your job much easier

• Cut the vegetables and put them in the refrigerator

There are so many instances, where you throw out the vegetables. So, it is recommended, that you should cut the vegetables and put them, in the refrigerator. The majority of the vegetables like beans, cauliflower, cabbage, and ladyfinger, freeze extremely well, without any impact, on the taste, after cooking them. You will be able to use frozen vegetables, the majority of the time, for side dishes like cabbage poriyal, beans poriyal and bhindi do pyaza respectively.

• Onions need to be chopped.

You must ask your chef to keep chopped onions in your refrigerator. When he/ she is frying the onions, in the pan, he can quickly cut the tomatoes, minced garlic, and ginger.

• Always make your curry sauce.

It is a very good habit, on your part, to make your curry sauce, and store it for a week in the refrigerator. You can utilize this sauce, in a variety of curries, such as Makhani curries, Dals, and Chicken curries respectively.
