Acutance (isotretinoin) is a synthetic vitamin A known as retinoids. Accutane is used to treat severe cystic acne where other medications have failed. This drug helps to reduce sebum (oil) production and can cause remission of acne. This acne medication was originally approved for extreme forms of acne however many doctors prescribed it for milder cases.
