Different Types Of Flanges

What is Flange
Flanges connect pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment to create a piping system. It also offers easy access for washing, inspection, or alteration. Flanges aren’t a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. Aside from sizing, choosing the right flange design for your piping system and intended use will ensure efficient operation, a long service life, and the best price. Riddhi Siddhi Metal Impex is a leading Flanges Manufacturer in India. Flanges give you more versatility when it comes to maintaining piping systems because they allow for easier disassembly and better access to system components. Flanges come in a variety of shapes and sizes, including:
Weld Neck Flanges:
Weld-Neck Flanges are joined to a pipe by welding the flange’s neck to the pipe, as the name implies. It is expensive due to its long neck, but it is suitable for high tension applications because the neck provides critical flange reinforcement. Vibration and corrosion are reduced since the flange bore suits the shaft bore.
Socket Weld Flanges:
Socket Weld Flanges are commonly used in high-pressure systems like hydraulic ...
... and steam lines. Similar to the outline slip-on flange, the bore of this flange is recessed to accept the pipe. The remaining bore has the same diameter as the shaft’s internal diameter. Fillet welding around the flange’s hub connects the flange to the shaft.
Slip-On Flange:
A Slip On Flange is a ring that fits over the pipe end and extends far enough from the pipe end to allow a weld bead to be added to the inside diameter. On the backside of the slip-on flange, the OD is also welded. Slip-on flanges are less expensive to manufacture than weld neck flanges and are easier to align. Slip-on flanges can be used as lap joint flanges if they have Type B or Type C stub ends.
Blind Flange:
Blind flanges provide convenient access to the pipeline since they can be quickly unbolted to enable the operator to perform tasks within the pipe’s terminal end (this is also the reason why the blind flange type is used as a manhole for pressure vessels, at times). Blind flanges must withstand substantial mechanical stress due to system pressure and necessary bolting forces.
Special Approved Flanges:
EIL Approved Flanges: The ASME B16.9, 16.28 specifications apply to the EIL Approved Pipe Flanges. These fittings are available in a variety of material grades. Stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, duplex steel, and nickel alloys are among the materials used.
IBR Approved Flanges: Using IBR components has a number of advantages. To begin with, when the imported Low Alloy Steel IBR Approved Flange is produced with the required IBR content, there is little to no possibility of explosion.
