Going Off-grid: Get The Advantages Of Solar Energy

In case you haven’t noticed, the climate worldwide has gotten a bit hotter – and colder – than usual lately, especially in the past few years. Relax, I’m not one of those friendly alarmists trying to convert you into a veggie eating the-sky-is-my-roof hippie. We do live in a stable climatic period, which is at the same time a bit climatically diverse. Nonetheless, we can still benefit from the advantages of solar energy. But the next time you watch a storm rip through a part of the world that you never dreamed of getting one, just stop and think for a second. Now I don’t know how much man has impacted global climate change, but it’s pretty clear that Mother Nature has a few tricks up her sleeve. The question is: are you willing to do something about it? Or will you just wait for the grand finale!
What is Solar Energy?
Now that’s a good question! Because before we get cozy talking about ‘the advantages of solar energy,’ we just have to know what solar energy really is. Solar energy is a form of alternative energy that is harvested from the sun’s rays that ...
... is then converted into electricity. This is done with the use of what we call solar panels. These solar panels are made from what are known as photovoltaic cells or PV cells. Solar cells basically do is that they capture the sun’s rays and convert them into a form of pure energy.

Why Solar Panels?
So, why solar panels? The answer is simple because you won’t have to pay electricity bills after installing them, thus dodging the bullet of price hikes of power distributors!
Does the Advantage of Solar Energy Really Outweigh its Costs?
So what exactly are the advantages of clean, renewable, near-silent, plausible, relatively cheap, eco-friendly solar energy? Well, if I haven’t made my point yet, read on and educate yourself further.
Positive Impact on the Environment:
One of the main advantages of solar energy is that it's eco-friendly, meaning that the sun is a renewable energy that won’t run out any time soon. That’s good news because it means that we can harvest its energy for years without having to bother about it ever running out. The latest studies on solar energy have also revealed that the amount of sunlight that hits Australia on a daily basis can easily create power for the entire country. Unfortunately, the solar panels that we are currently using aren’t powerful enough to harvest that much energy, but we are getting there in leaps and bounds. Hopefully, one day every house in Australia will have a solar panel proudly perched on its roof.
As previously mentioned, the solar panels that are being used today don’t have that much power and can only harvest about twenty percent of the sun’s rays. That being said, anything that does not damage the environment or have some negative impact on our lives is a welcome start to a better future.
Positive Impact on the Economy:
Another advantage of solar energy is that with the increased use of solar power, there have been many more jobs created in the past few years that have stabilized the economy as a whole. These jobs have ranged from the manufacturing of solar panels to their installation and providing maintenance services.
Health Benefits:
Using solar panels also helps curb the health issues that are tied into the pollutants that result from creating electricity the traditional way. In comparison, the solar energy created from solar panels creates no toxic waste and is not priced according to supply and demand.
The Cost:
For starters, the most noteworthy advantage of solar energy is that the price of solar panel installations is not that high, which means that you can easily find cheap solar panels by following some precise instructions. Furthermore, the initial investment pays off over time, so you’re not losing anything in the long run. Solar panels can provide between twenty to eighty percent of consumption over a period of time.
Low Maintenance:
Additional advantages of solar energy also include having readily available, silent and long-lasting means of pollutant-free renewable energy that virtually needs no maintenance. Another plus point for solar panels is that they have no moving parts and are therefore resistant to the wear and tear of bad weather and storms. Carefully positioning solar panels on roofs and backyards of people who live in warm climates allows its users to produce energy all through the year.
At the end of the day one of the most important advantages of solar energy is that it is ultimately a clean, readily available and renewable source of energy that can be implemented in stages, therefore reducing the initial outlay of capital. One of the advantages of solar energy is that this also gives homeowners the opportunity to make a difference to their domestic energy consumption in small incremental stages, saving them from the need of having to make investments that they may not be able to afford, for whatever reason. Using solar panels as an alternate route for domestic energy consumption also gives homeowners the satisfaction of doing their part (even if it is in a small way) for making the world a better place around us.
Bottom Line:
The truth of the matter is that we can talk about the advantages of solar energy till the cows come home, but the fact of solar energy remains that, even with substantial cost reductions, policies and financial support for growth is needed on a large scale in order to make a significant impact. In all this, governments must provide the framework, and not just leave it to the market. Call 1300 867 328, and get high-quality solar panels for electricity that can work for up to 25 years.
Ending Note on the Advantages of Solar Energy:
Aw, shucks, I could go on and on about the countless advantages of solar energy, but it seems I’ve lost an electron. ‘Ohm’ god, that was a bad joke, I don’t know ‘watt’ made me say it. Okay, okay, all I want to say is that with oil resources slowly depleting, it is about time we started to use alternate forms of clean, safe and renewable energy, as in, solar energy.
