Whenever we talk about Japan, there are some images that come to your mind like their traditional home designs, dresses like kimono, animated cartoons, ninjas and a very tragic incident of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing. But let me stop you right there, the actual image is very different from your fictional work. Today we are going to talk about a country which is famous for various reasons listed by schools in Dehradun the "Land of the Rising Sun", Japan.
A country with more than 126 million population and the world's 11th most populated country. With over 2300 kilometres of railway tracks and bullet trains going over 320 kilometres per hour (kmph) speed, making your journey shorter, comfortable, reliable and less time-consuming. This is the only country where you can see a square-shaped watermelon, which is actually more of a showpiece than fruit because it costs extra to buy this type of fruit. Also, Japan is such a country having an automated parking system where you need to park your car in a spot, and the workers will park them in the building ...
... with the use of machines. It's like having an elevator for your car to park it on a different floor.
Japan is actually divided into more than 6800 islands, having a negative population growth rate, meaning there are more older people than the younger generation and have very less crime rate. It shares one of the lowest murder rates in the world. Famous for their politeness, people are such a delight to talk to. With over 100 active volcanoes including Mount Fuji, 47 volcanoes recently erupted. Japan has a 20% contribution of earthquakes around the world of 6.0 or more magnitude on the Richter scale. Every year more than 1500 major earthquakes happen there. With so many things, there are some values and lessons we can learn from this country.
Hygiene or Cleanliness: Japan is very serious regarding their hygiene. They like the place more when it is clean. To maintain it, there are bins everywhere. You will find this country more beautiful because they do not let their public or private places remain dirty. Japan ranked 20th cleanest country in the world out of over 190 countries all over the globe. You can imagine how much they love cleanliness.
Technological advancement: They are one of the most progressive countries in the world. With awesome gadgets and many electronics, optics, automobiles and robotics industries spread all over the country. They use the help of robots in making their country clean, play with them, use them as per their needs. They are using artificial intelligence (AI) and robots to solve their social issues. Also, there are more than five million vending machines dispensing food, snacks, popcorn, cold drinks and even coffees. They use automatic toilets, and touch screen menus at a restaurant and maps on a digital screen to let you know where you are.
Punctuality: Japanese people are one of the most respectful and on time people. They value their time and use it beneficially. In Japan, if a train is late, it has a delay certificate. Furthermore, if a train is late for more than 2 hours, the passengers have given the refund of their ticket. Even the government values their public's time.
Moral education: Do you know, in Japan they do not take exams or tests of the kids less than ten years of age. By that age, they teach them how to live, justice, laws, understanding of right and wrong. We can say why their crime rate is so low. When you teach students what is right and what is wrong, they will avoid doing anything opposite of their ethics.
Even though Japan is a very progressive and work-oriented country, they still respect their culture, value their origins and history. Despite being attacked so many times and being destroyed vastly, Japan always healed itself and became stronger every time. There is so much this country can teach us, but the honesty and integrity of people are a must learn. Take account of these positive lessons from Japan and keep growing.
