Heli Ski Takes Cat Skiing To The Next Level
With the current state of the economy and the long hours most of us need to put in at work, finding ways to unwind and relieve the stress during the few weeks off we get from work is really important. Some people like to just go to some remote country and lie on the beach drinking cocktails all day. I am one of the people that always returns really tired from this kind of vacations so I prefer something more energizing, something like cat skiing. Amateur skiing can be quite entertaining also and there are numerous countries where you can go skiing and really charge your batteries.
Austria, Switzerland and a few other countries are great for those that would like to include skiing on their list of favorite activities. For those that are a little more experienced and would like to take their passion to the next stage with snowcat skiing, cat skiing and heli ski trips, although there are numerous other countries with great heli ski opportunities, Canada seems to be the premier choice for the majority of heli ski aficionados. For those of you that may not have heard the term heli ski before, you should know that it is basically ...
... cat skiing that requires you to hitch a ride on a helicopter to get to the starting point. Generally, companies specializing in this type of services offer certain verticals included in the daily fees with additional costs for going higher.
Snowcat skiing is also a form of cat skiing for which you must use snowcats to get at the beginning of the course. With the great level of versatility of cat skiing, it is quite hard to find something equally as entertaining. Basically, you get on a helicopter or other means of transportation and get to the top of a really large slope that has never been touched and ride down for minutes making your own route through a beautiful landscape. Another great thing about snowcat skiing is that you can start all over again after each descent. You don't have to sit in those really uncomfortable ski lifts. Instead, your group has to instruct the driver or helicopter pilot to a new direction and find numerous other new slopes to descend.
A nice thing about cat skiing is you can use various means of transportation in accordance to your group's budget. It isn't quite the same to get on top of a really high slope in a snowcat as it is in a helicopter, but anyone who has tried both of these options will surely agree that both these experiences are well worth it. It is not advisable that ski beginners tackle this more advanced sport as it requires a great deal of experience and knowledge in order to be able to safely sky a completely untouched region of the mountain. For those seeking the absolute most thrilling mountain experience, the heli ski opportunities are definitely the best choices.
