What are Synthetic Enamel Paint and its uses?
Synthetic Enamel Paints is an Oil based Paint with superior adhesion qualities. It is formulated for hard films and gloss retention. They also offer excellent coverage and brushing property. Synthetic Enamel Paints are mainly available in 2 types of finish – Matt and Glossy finish. The main best feature is it can tick to all primers.
Enamel Paint air dries to a hard glossy finish used for coating surfaces that are outdoors or subject to hard wear. Synthetic Enamel is modified for both Exterior & Interior use. This is a high gloss super finish, which is suitable for steel, wood & synthetic board. It can also be applied on cement based surface or hard surface after application of proper primer.
Synthetic Enamel paint features superior adhesion qualities. This type of paints easily sticks to all primers. It can withstand high temperature and has good washing capability without losing shine. It is mainly formulated to be durable and resistant.

Oil-based enamels fully dry in 8 – 24 hours and dry on the inside first then outwards. It’s easy when oil-based enamel has fully cured, because it will feel entirely dry when touched.

On the opposite hand, water-based enamels can take up to 1 full month to be set and might be damaged during that time, so a high degree of care should be exercised when washing and handling. Water-based enamel paints will dry on the surface first so the inside.

Synthetic enamel paints are cheaper due to the blend of the paint that it is. Usually, all you need when mixing synthetic enamel paint is your main color and a reducer.

Surface Preparation
Before the application of Synthetic Enamel Paint ensures that the surface should be absolutely dry, moisture and oil free before application. The previously painted surfaces should be properly stripped of old paint. The rust and the dust should be cleaned thoroughly before application.
Tips for Painting Work
• Cement based primer which is white in color is laid on the wall before applying of Synthetic Enamel paint.
• This paint shouldn't be used for bitumen surface like road marking because the oil of enamel paint reacts with bitumen.
• Putty or Plaster of Paris should be dry before the paint is applied.
• Primer and every coat of paint should be dried before next coat is applied.
• Synthetic enamel paint should be done only after six months of completion of newly plastered surface.
• Synthetic Enamel paint can be used with all primers and be done on wood, steel and walls.
Application Method:
Stir the paint thoroughly before use. Add thinner if required. Apply uniformly by Brush or by Conventional spray. Apply Primer first and follow it up with Enamel painting.
Application Areas:
As a finishing top coat on steel, wood, plaster, concrete & on many other surfaces where good levelling, gloss & color retention is required. It’s recommended to use over properly prepared & primed interior or exterior surfaces.
