Along with the Handloom board, the Handicrafts board and Powerloom board are also abolished the same day.

This would mean that there will be no Government body, to host the Handloom, Handicraft and Powerloom sectors to the Government, and the craftsmen will directly address their concerns to the Government, without any medium of connection, operating just like any other independent industry.

With this new move, the Indian Government have heavily campaigned the #Vocal4Handloom hashtag indicating a prospective new beginning for the industry, in the wake of National Handloom Day.
