“You can’t control what goes on outside,

But you can control what goes on inside”

A yoga teacher should be able to initiate the students into yogic practices and training. They teach them different yoga poses and along-side educate them regarding each pose and its physical, mental and spiritual benefits. Good yoga instructors will not only look into your poses and postures, they will also monitor your nutrition and water intake along with meditation.

Professionals in this field take personal and group classes, and even workshops to spread awareness, build a community and then perhaps, invest in a fitness centers and other such facilities. Once you’re through with the Yoga Teacher Training course from a renowned yoga school, you do become a certified yoga instructor. Yoga Teacher Training in Goa

Yoga Teacher Training courses require seriousness and dedication from the students who decide to pursue it. Students are curious to know how long the training would take before they become certified yoga instructors, answer to which is definitely not time. Time plays little or no role at all, ...
... it depends more on the hunger and commitment they have to learn their subject in depth and the kind of school they end up for their training.

So what exactly implies to become a yoga instructor?

You should have learned and practiced yoga for a couple of years in order to have some experience at it.  Consider pursuing a Yoga Teacher Training course from a reliable school. You could try learning different styles of yoga at first and then, needless to say, pursue the style that resonates the best with you. Pay close attention to the basics and the correct postures and poses. Understand that as a teacher, you’ll have to pass on the knowledge to the other yoga enthusiasts. So, it’s best to be alert and attentive about what you learn.

Keep in mind that you’d be dealing with a number of people and no two will be alike. Everybody will have different sets of challenges, mindset and body types. You’ll have to study your client, his body type and his issues and teach him the yoga style that he would possibly benefit from the most.

There are two levels to the certifications:

Yoga Teacher Training in India  and 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training - the minimum level of education/ knowledge that you require to start your yoga practice as an instructor.

500 Hours Yoga Teacher Training – This degree is for those yoga aspirants who want to dive deep into the subject, go beyond the basic knowledge they obtained at 200 Hours training. After this level, you are eligible to write RYT against your name which signifies Registered Yoga Teacher from Yoga Alliance UK or USA.

Yoga isn’t only about the yoga poses and postures. A proper teacher training course in yoga from a good school would include subjects like Human Anatomy, Physiology, hand on adjustment Yoga techniques, and Philosophy. Most of the yoga schools go by the guidelines set by Yoga Alliance for 200-hour and 500-hour teacher training programs.

Things to keep in mind

Always keep in touch with other yoga instructors. It is community and staying in touch with others wouldn’t require heavy investment of any kind, moreover, you can always get and take help from each other whenever necessary.

Pursuing a course in Physical Education could prove to be useful. Both courses can be done simultaneously. A course in Physical education can give you knowledge of how to deal with any health emergency. This is a skill that goes a long way and organizations that require yoga teachers and trainers, do give preference to candidates with this skill set.

Yoga students who have completed the course that meet the guidelines set by Yoga Alliance are eligible to apply for RYT, i.e. Registered Yoga Teacher – a distinction earned by yoga students that enables them to begin practicing as yoga teachers.

Like all other skills, yoga students also need to keep their knowledge up to date by attending seminars and workshops. Teachers and trainers registered with Yoga Alliance are supposed to teach for 45 hours and attend other classes for 30 hours i.e. 75 hours every three years in order to continue practicing.

Yoga training takes place in Yoga retreats, Yoga schools and Yoga centers at offbeat locations, away from the chaos of the city. The majority of these schools offer even online yoga courses that the student can pursue at home, at his own pace. However, this being said, it is still recommended to move to a retreat or school or a local center and practice with other students and professionals. Doing this gives you an opportunity to interact and learn more than just yoga.

A 200-hour yoga teacher training course takes close to three to five weeks. And 500-hour yoga teacher training takes from 4 to 7 weeks perhaps, even more, depending entirely on how deep the yoga student is willing to dig into the subject. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training India

In today's context, educated people, especially working professionals are investing time and money into yoga as they’re gradually coming to terms with how stress is weighing them down, physically and mentally.
