Eczema is a very common condition in America; 7.2 % of adults have eczema, while 13% of children under the age of 18 suffer with this condition. In other words, multiple millions of adults and children suffer needlessly from eczema.

People are essentially told that they have to learn to live with eczema, which allows for no hope of ever becoming free of this condition. This can be quite a crushing thought for someone, particularly if they are young and have a bad case of eczema.

For anyone with eczema who feels a little hopeless and helpless, the image below should give you immediate hope. The pre and post images are from a woman aged 77, and the pictures were taken five months apart.

Corticosteroid creams are the most common treatment for “managing” eczema. A popular website (WebMD) explains that the goal of treatment is 4-fold (1):

1. Control the itch
2. Heal the skin
3. Prevent flares
4. Prevent infections

In addition to various cream medications, antihistamines and antibiotics are often prescribed. UV light therapy is also a treatment option.

Home care ...
... involves avoiding contact with irritants, wearing comfortably fitting clothes, and not letting the skin become too dry. Stress management is important, as periods of stress can promote a flare-up of symptoms. Patients are also told to avoid triggering allergens, such as pollen, dust mites, animal dander, and mold.

Unfortunately, nowhere did WebMD mention that a pro-inflammatory diet can be a contributor to the development and perpetuation of eczema, and this is most likely because they do not understand the relationship between diet and chronic inflammation. The image above and the accompanying video below demonstrates how diet is one of the most important drivers of eczema expression.

The DeFlame Diet is probably the easiest nutritional concept to embrace– the obvious goal is to become DeFlamed and Chapter 9 contains all the key markers to track your progress. The remaining chapters address the common questions that people have about diet, chronic inflammation, and the related conditions cause by chronic inflammation. It is so easy, it is almost too hard to believe…however, pre- and post-pictures make it quite believable.
