Fishing is a commonly loved pastime for people who love the outdoors, families, thrill seekers, and serious fishermen, but a chance to take the tackle box and gear out to the open sea can be a very different and rewarding experience. This is a guide explaining how to deep-sea fish.

To begin with, make sure you are prepared for the heat you may encounter by bringing along plenty of fluids and of course, sunscreen. Dehydration which is a loss of water and important blood salts like potassium and sodium can affect vital organs like the kidneys, brain, and heart so it is very important to stay hydrated!

In most areas, there are mandatory regulations stating that there should be enough life preservers for everyone aboard a ship, boat, or other craft. This is for good cause. Even if regulations are absent you must make sure, for your own safety that life preservers are on the ship as well as a CB radio. Before heading to the ocean, make sure that you obtain a fishing license from the delegated authority, usually these licenses are available at grocery stores and state offices for a small fee, with approval you should ...
... be given a copy of the current regulations and should adhere to them for the benefit of the ecosystem as well as to avoid criminal charges.

When it comes to bait and equipment the choices are various with varying degrees of functionality, depending on your personal preferences and goals. Live bait is more effective than synthetic or otherwise 'dead' bait. If you choose to use live bait, the proper method would be to have a bait well or other container, a bucket etc. to keep the live bait in. Expect to do a lot of reeling; depths of 150 - 200 feet and more are common. Check out the local sports store for electric reels if you want to save some of your energy as you will be doing a lot of reeling. Sports/Outdoors stores usually will have Fish Finder sonar's available and these devices can not only be very entertaining, but they can be very useful out at sea.
