What Do You Know About The Hublot Classic Fusion Aeromoon?

How much time do you think would take a cutting edge, modernistic, and avant-garde watchmaker to master one of the most intricate complications in Haute Horlogerie? Well, it took Hublot 35 years to finally launch their own moon phase timepiece, so there's that. Presenting to you the Hublot Classic Fusion Aeromoon, the Swiss horology wizard’s first go at the evergreen and ever-classy moon phase complication. The timepiece displayed a typical Hublot design with a hint of fresh structural codes.
The Aeromoon
The usual porthole architecture stood at 45mm and had six unaligned titanium screws on the bezel. The bezel along with the lugs was vertically polished. On the side of the watch case, there sat comfortably four correctors, each responsible for adjusting the day, month, and moon phase settings. It is important to note that although the timepiece may have seemed too ridiculously large and thick as usual, it was not. It was a surprise for Hublot watch enthusiasts and connoisseurs as well that the Swiss watch manufacturer was able to create something that was not inhumanely thick.
When it comes to the dial, ...
... it was marked with faceted indices along with matching baton hands and was made with sapphire crystal. This means that almost everything inside the dial was visible to the naked eye. The appearance that the watchmaker from Switzerland was aiming for had been successfully achieved as the Hublot Classic Fusion Aeromoon was a beautiful representation of a skeletonised watch. The centre of attention here was the coveted Moonphase feature that was highlighted just too well, given the shebang going on at the back. The 13mm window located at the 6 o’clock hour marker elegantly displayed the lunar cycle like poetry in motion. Another unique feature was that the moons in the display were frosted rather than solid.
The Moonphase Complication
The lunar complication was definitely a show stopper. It not only offered a new wave of sophistication to the entire Hublot line of watches but also proved once again that there is no complication that the master of fusion cannot conquer.
The Moon phase was operated by a 59-toothed wheel that took a step forward every 24 hours. It eventually completed one full revolution equivalent to 29.5 days in two lunar months. This whole apparatus was accompanied by two separate display windows at 12 o’clock, which showed the day and month.
As far as the movement was concerned, note that Hublot made this into a skeletonised device. So, viewing the movement was in no way a problem. In addition to that, the watch also exhibited a see-through case back that allowed the user to see the rest of the calibre. The HU1131 beat at the core of the Aeromoon at 28,800 VPH with a power reserve of 42 hours. The brand launched this marvel in titanium and King Gold.
Hublot watches are for sure a sight for sore eyes. For some, they may be a little offbeat and non-aligned to the conventional watchmaking principles, but for true patrons, they are nothing short of art.
