Oropharynx cancers related to HPV-positive are due to human papillomavirus infection whereas HPV-negative is linked to alcohol or tobacco use.

iii)Hypopharynx cancer

Hypopharynx forms in the bottom part of the throat, just above larynx i.e. voice box, the area where the larynx and esophagus meet. Excessive use of tobacco products and heavy drinking increases the risk of developing hypopharyngeal cancers.

4.Laryngeal cancer

Though Laryngeal cancer i.e. cancer in the voice box can develop in any part of the larynx yet treatment and cure rates are determined by the location of tumors such as Glottis, Supraglottis or Subglottis.

•Glottic cancer

Development of cancerous cells on true vocal cords i.e. anterior and posterior folds is referred to as Glottic cancer. Most laryngeal cancers originate in the glottis.

•Supraglottis cancer

The growth of cancerous cells in supraglottic cancers occurs in the area above glottis involving epiglottis, arytenoids and aryepiglottic folds of vocal cords. Supraglottic cancers are relatively less common

•Subglottis cancers
