Moving into a long-term home does not always happen immediately. A participant may have a home confirmed but still be waiting for disability-related supports to be set up and home modifications to be completed. In these situations, NDIS Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) can provide a temporary housing option. MTA is a home and living support that generally provides accommodation for up to 90days while an eligible NDIS participant waits to move into their long-term home. Longer periods may be funded in limited circumstances where there is evidence that disability-related arrangements will take additional time. There are many benefits to this.

1. Crucial Support During a Time of Transition
A participant may already have a confirmed Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) property,private rental, community housing arrangement or another home ready for them in the future, but still be waiting for the supports that will make the move possible.
