If you take a car and drive it at its limits sometimes the suspension is not stable enough and the feeling you get is the car isn't very steady. Although this is unlikely to lead to the car losing its balance but it is not a very pleasant feeling to sit in a car that is moving at high speeds but is not very steady.

Now you may have in fact boosted the performance of your car through several improvements after you bought the car. And as the car performance got better you will have needed to make sure the suspension of the car kept pace. One great option you have to make the car more stable is a strut bar.

A strut bar is a simple elegant device which links the suspensions of two wheels of the car so that the car does not go beyond a point when it rocks and rolls during a high speed ride. It does so by reducing the flex by tying two strut towers together. Of course as with most things in life you pay a small price for this benefit. The suspension, since it cannot deviate as much as it used to becomes stiffer and a displacement on side of the car will affect the other side of the car as well. But a stiffer and stabler ...
... car is the one to have if you are into high performance driving because the extra stiffness only causes a small amount of discomfort if any and on the other hand the extra stability is very desirable in a high performance situation. That extra safety can easily be the difference between a safe ride and an accident.

The strut bar though is typically used in conjunction with another suspension feature which is a MacPherson strut. This suspension combines a shock absorber and a spring in a single strut tower. This allows each wheel to have an independent suspension. This makes for a more comfortable ride but in a high performance car it may allow too much flex, which is reduced with the help of a strut bar.
