How To Make A Homemade Paintball Bunker
Paintball is very popular nowadays as it is being played in more than 75 countries across the entire world. This sport is considered to be an action adventure type of sport in which teams with a minimum member of 3 compete with others using shoot paint encased in a gelatin shell. With this article we will try to present the process of manufacturing a paintball bunker.
First of all, we will offer a list of items that you will need in order to create the bunker:
- 18 tires
- Jigsaw
- Tape measure
- Safety goggles
- 12 stakes, 12 high
- Strong glue
- Cinder blocks (as needed)
- Mallet or a hammer
- Piece of plywood, 5' wide x 6' long
- Horse blanket
- Keyhole saw / reciprocating saw
The first part of building a paintball bunker is constructing the low wall. For this, you will need to place 3 tires on the ground; flush them against each other on a 45 degree angle. Next thing to do is to stack 2 tires on top of the ones that you first placed in order to form 3 columns. You will now need to measure 5' from the end of the first tire column and stack the ...
... rest of the tires in the same way that you did with the rest.
The second and most important part is building and securing the high wall of the paintball bunker. Step 1 is for moving the plywood into place by putting it long side on the ground in front of the tire column so that one end is about two inches in front of the tires. Step 2 is for hammering your stakes right in front of the plywood so that they are flush against it, starting at the far end and moving towards the center.
Step 3 - stack the cinder blocks three blocks high in front of the plywood running horizontal and starting with a base along the entire length of the plywood. Your next step will be to make a base of cinder blocks right behind the plywood with the smooth sides facing up and making the base three rows back. Your fifth and final step is to stack cinder blocks three high in the back of the plywood and two high in the back of the first row but being careful to keep the flat ends of the cinder blocks facing up.
The three following steps are additional and not obligatory:
1. Cut four small-sized holes using your saw through the back of the plywood, about one inch above the cinder blocks' top with two near the sides and other two close to the center;
2. Make thick lines across the top of the cinder blocks on the first row right behind the plywood. Repeat the process on the second base. This step requires the usage of glue;
3. Put the horse blanket on the cinder blocks and press down to adhere them with the glue. Next, press against the side and the second bases top.
A bunker can be easily made using old tires, scraps of plywood or anything you have at your disposal. You can add additional holes if you need them. These holes you cut into the plywood are for putting your gun barrel through in order to shoot at your enemies through a safe cover.
As you can see, the process of building a paintball bunker from scratch is not that hard and does not require special items. Have fun building and using the bunker to your advantage in a paintball battle.
