Nashik is a city in the state of Maharashtra, located in the northwestern side of the state. It is at a distance of about 210 km away from the city of Pune in Maharashtra. Nashik, which is located in the Western Ghats, on the banks of the river Godavari towards the western edge of the Deccan Peninsula, is well-connected to the industrial hub of the state, Pune. The city of Nashik is well-connected to Pune through modes of transportations such as rail and road. Pune, the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra, is located at the confluence of Mula and Mutha Rivers. Founded by the valiant Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, Pune lies at an elevation of about 560 meters from sea level and is popularly known as the 'Queen of Deccan'. Mumbai, the capital of the state of Maharashtra, formed by a group of seven connected islands, namely Bombay Island, Parel, Mazagaon, Mahim, Colaba, Worli and Old Woman's Island, was formerly known as Bombay. In 1996 the city's name was officially changed to Mumbai, the original Marathi name derived from the Goddess Mumba who was worshipped by the Koli fishermen who were the first inhabitants. The main attractions of Mumbai are the Gateway of India, overlooking the harbour, the Prince of Wales museum, Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue, Elephanta cave island located in the Arabian sea , Parsi Fire temple, Marine Drive also known as ‘the Queens Necklace' and Chowpatty beach. The best way to reach from Mumbai to Pune is by road and it takes a travel time of about 3 hours. The Mumbai-Pune Express connects these two places. The drive on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, a six lane well laid concrete tolled expressway, takes you through the Sahyadri mountain ranges via many passes. The drive is considered one of the best. Along the way you pass through places like Sutarwadi, Mankhurd, Lonavala and Khandala. Regular bus services are available from Pune to Mumbai. The bus fare rates depend upon the type of bus chosen by the traveller. It usually ranges from 400 rupees to 600 rupees. Taxis are also available to travel from Pune to Mumbai. The charges range from 9 to 13 rupees per kilometre depending upon the type of vehicle. Shared vehicles are also available. There are regular train services available from Pune to Mumbai. The travel time taken to reach Mumbai from Pune via rail is about 3 to 4 hours. Madurai Express No: 11044 that leaves at 02:05 am from Pune Junction reaches by 05:50 am at LTT Station on Fridays. Indrayani Express No: 22106 depart at 06:35 pm from Pune and reaches by 09:55 pm at Mumbai CSTM on all days. Intercity Express No: 12128 leave at 08:00 pm from Pune Junction and reaches at about 12:00 AM at Mumbai CSTM on all days. Deccan Express No: 11008 leaves at about 07:10 pm from Pune Junction and reaches by 11:10 pm at Mumbai on all days. Udyan Express No: 16530 depart at 08:05 pm from Pune Junction and reaches by 11:40 pm at Mumbai on all days. Regular flight services are available between these two important airports and it is the fastest way of reaching from Pune to Mumbai. Ahmedabad, located on the banks of the River Sabarmati, is one of the fastest growing cities in India. Ahmedabad is closely associated with the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi. He established the famous Sabarmati Ashram on the banks of the river in 1915. Ahmedabad was earlier known as Karnavati. It was named after King Karandev. When the medieval ruler Sultan Ahmed Shah conquered the place, he named it as Ahmedabad. Muslim monuments in the city are the tombs of Ahmed Shah and his queens, Ahmed Shah's Mosque, Jama Masjid, Mosque of Sidi Sayid, Teen Darwaza or Triple Gateway, Rani Rupmati Mosque and Jhulta Minara. Akshardham Temple, Hatheesing Jain Temples and ISKCON Temple are the temples in the city. Other sightseeing destinations in Ahmedabad included Indian Institute of Management, Science City, Nagina Wadi Island in Kankaria Lake, Kamla Nehru Zoo, Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial, Bhadra Fort, Calico Museum of Textiles, Shreyas Folk Art Museum, National Institution of Design, Kite Museum, Sanskar Kendra and Natural History Museum. Pune is situated around 680 km from Ahmedabad. Located on the Deccan Plateau near western coast, Pune was earlier known as 'Punya-Nagiri' or 'Queen of Deccan'. The Britishers later called it Poona. Now it has got its original name Pune. Pune has several places of interest for tourists. Eighth century Pataleshwar Cave Temple is a marvel of rock-cut architecture. Ganesha is the deity in the Shrimant Dagduseth Halwai Ganpati Temple. Osho Park is a great centre for meditation and rejuvenation. Pune has also the prestigious Film Institute. Another star attraction is Aga Khan Palace, where Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned for participating in 'Quit India Movement' in 1942. Among the other major destinations in the city include Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Shaniwar Wada, Sinhgad Fort, Saras Baug (a park), Sadhu Vaasvani Mission and Katraj Jain Temple. Both Ahmedabad and Pune have airports. Major airlines like Jet Airways and Kingfisher have regular flights from Ahmedabad to Pune. There is no direct daily train from Ahmedabad to Pune. But there are a few trains which run on certain days of the week. So there is no problem of getting a train to travel from Ahmedabad to Pune. Some of these trains are going to Jodhpur and Ajmer side from Bangalore and Mysore. The train journey takes 11 hours to 13 hours to reach Pune from Ahmedabad. Both the places are well connected by road also. Private operators are running buses on this route. The bus fare from Ahmedabad to Pune ranges from Rs.500 to Rs.1400 depending on the type of bus the travellers wish to travel. The taxi cabs charges a fare of around Rs.14000 for the trip. Bangalore, the garden city of India, is one of the most sought after tourist destinations of the country. The hub of the IT industry, Bangalore is known for its heritage and historic sites, as well as gardens and lakes. Mumbai is the capital city of Maharashtra. A bustling metro and a busy sea port, Mumbai is the financial capital of the country. A group of connected islands, Mumbai is a well connected city. The main attractions of Mumbai are the Gateway of India, the Prince of Wales museum, Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue, Elephanta Cave Island located in the Arabian Sea, Fire temple, Marine Drive, and the famous Chowpatty beach. The distance between Bangalore and Mumbai is 995 km by road. The time taken to cover this distance on road is about 14 hours. The National Highway 4, a major highway in Western and Southern India, links Bangalore and Mumbai. The road connectivity between both the cities is very good, and most of the highway is four-laned. The major cities found on the way from Bangalore to Mumbai are Tumkur, Chithradurga, Devanagare, Hubli, Dharwad, Belgaum, Kolhapur, Satara, Khandala, Pune, and Lonavala. Though travelling by road is not a popular choice, numerous buses ply regularly between both the cities. These buses are run by both government and private agencies. The buses vary from ordinary to semi-sleeper to sleeper class and the cost of the ticket also varies according to the type of bus chosen. The bus journey can be tiresome, and it is mostly done by youngsters and backpackers who do not get a train ticket. For the car driving fanatics the road journey from Bangalore to Mumbai is a dream as it passes through some of the most beautiful stretches in the Sahyadris. You can also take many breaks on the journey staying at hill stations like Khandala or Lonavala. Another option is to hire a cab to travel from Mumbai to Bangalore. Not a feasible option, as this is a costly affair, a round trip would cost Rs. 25000, according to the cab chosen. The most economical and effortless mode of transport travel from Bangalore to Mumbai is by rail. Trains depart from 3 stations in Bangalore, Yesvantpur Junction, Bangalore City Junction and Krishnarajapuram and terminate at Mumbai CSTM, Lokmanyatilak T and Dadar. The main trains connecting Bangalore and Mumbai are Udyan Express (16530), Nagarcoil Express (16340), Trivandrum Express (16332), Chalukya Express (11018) and Coimbatore Express (11014). For those hard pressed for time, air travel is an excellent option to travel from Mumbai to Bangalore. There are around 50 flights operated by different airlines like Kingfisher, Indigo, GoAir, Jetlite and Spicejet to choose from. The flying time is around one and a half hours. From Mumbai To Bangalore has also various travel options. Similarly for Bangalore To Chennai regular buses, train and flights are available. Its contribution to the art and culture of the nation is also unparalleled. New Delhi, on the other hand, is undoubtedly the most historic city of the country from time immemorial. Boasting of a rich and ancient cultural past, New Delhi has always had a prominent place in Indian history and politics. Much of the modern Indian history is centred on this magnificent city. As such, it is a treasure house of historic sites and monuments and has a lot to offer to the tourists. Being the seat of the Indian Government, New Delhi enjoys a privileged position, unlike many other metropolises. An approximate distance of 2283 km separates both these historic cities from each other. As both of the cities enjoy great connectivity, travelling from Chennai to Delhi is very easy. Chennai is connected to Delhi by means of Air, Rail and Road. However, the easiest way to travel between both the cities is by air. There are close to 30 flights connecting Chennai to Delhi on a daily basis. Advance booking of tickets is highly recommended, especially if one plans for travel from Chennai to Delhi during holidays, and while travelling with kids and senior citizens, for comfortable journey. As the distance between both the places is pretty high, travelling by road is not recommended.
