Music is both soul stirring and pacifying means of living. If you wish to get away from the maddening necessities of daily life, it’s best to either listen to or learn some kind of music. There are instances of great academicians playing on different musical instruments just to relax them from their daily work pressures and strains.

A very common instrument which finds huge popularity and common purpose in almost all kinds of music is the guitar. Young adults are exceptionally crazy about guitar and almost every household would find one living with them. The craze is also because of the rising popularity of the pop and rock shows from America and other developed European countries.

So, if you wish to play the guitar, you would have to know about the specific methodology of the guitar you are about to play on. There are seven types of the guitar, each coming with its unique sound-

Electric guitar- Electric guitar is easily identifiable because of the amplified volume it produces. One can use much thinner strings in this type.

Acoustic guitar- They are also known as steel-string guitars for the types ...
... of strings that get used. Their body is made with wood and the sound produced with the vibrations of strings acts like one echo chamber.

Classical guitar- Although it looks similar to acoustic guitar, the main difference lays with the types of strings classical uses. This one uses two types of strings- the three thin ones are nylon strings and the rest three are nickel strings. It is mellower and has a quieter volume.

12-string guitar- This guitar is usually used in playing folk music, rock and roll and blues. There are 6 courses in this guitar, which has 2 strings each. They look more like the lute or mandolin. 12-string guitars are also found in electric forms.

High-strung guitar- Also known as Nashville guitars, it refers to practicing the replace of some of the strings on the six- stringed ones with strings of lighter gauge. This allows in higher than the standard octave tuning. They are usually made by placing one string from each six courses of the twelve string guitar.

Dobro guitar- It is commonly used as a resonator guitar and specifically with single inverted resonator. In the later years of its finding, Dobro appeared on other instruments like the electric guitars with lap-steel and mandolins like Safari resonators.

7-string guitar- This kind is predominant with jazz and was aimed by George V Van Eps in late 1930s. Later in hard rock the form was also used. Steve Vai was probably the most prominent as he popularized the use of 7 string guitars in the 1990s by adding another string to the 6-stringed one.

Taking guitar lessons would solely depend upon which type of guitar you would like to learn first. It also depends upon the type of music you wish to use the guitar for. So, when it comes to choosing the right kind of guitar you wish to learn, it is better to go for the basic 6-string one and learn the basic in acoustic guitar and then go about taking specializations later.

Stradivari Strings is a popular music school and has been widely providing guitar lessons Singapore along with different other instruments.
