How To Make Money Writing – Selecting The Most Lucrative Ideas   By: rob colville
Conceiving the idea: The very cornerstone of your online business. Many folks find the ‘ideas stage' in deciding what to write about the most gruelling part in their quest to write a book. Fear not. Ever heard the cliché that everyone has a book inside them? It may be a cliché but it is the damn truth! I would like to go on to say that most people have several books inside them. Consider the transferable skills you have in your profession, career or chosen hobby. If you're a sales person, you will invariably possess skills in negotiation, reading body language and closing the sale. Guess what, there are three books there! If you own a successful business or enterprise – you can write about what you did and what the competition didn't. If you love football, cricket, basketball...guess what - write about it; ‘Explosive training guide to....' If you are passionate about gardening, you can write a ‘How to Guide' for every plant species you have successfully germinated. Believe it or not, those niches are the very niches that sell – and I mean really sell! Remember, as long as you can demonstrate you know more than 1% of any particular subject compared to your average Tom, Dick, Harry, Sharon, Stacey or Mohammed – then you will be in business! The majority of successful people who write freelance or for a publication are able to draw on their own professional, academic expertise and/or personal experiences of the world and find an angle where they can demonstrate their 1% edge. Everyone possesses knowledge in some form which will be useful to someone else – it just depends on the extent you can find your target audience and market it. Seize this moment for some introspection. Consider 10 aspects about yourself that spring to mind, and write them down pronto (overleaf)! They will be good fodder when looking at the numerous angles you can get from your proposed subject as well as the profit potential. What are your interests and hobbies? What are you trained in? What is your profession? How do you think you can help people? How can you use your most recent experiences to help others? Have you identified a solution to a problem? Subjects tend to be broad by their very nature and are most likely to have been written about to death. That should not be a problem – providing you chose a good angle, spin, focus or bias. Remember, many subjects have dozens of books in them just like every person does, and it is our job to stand out from the crowd. Remember potential buyers/readers want to instantly know: ‘What's in it for me?'(read entire article)

How To Make Money With Your Writing   By: rob colville
The creator of the highly acclaimed Words To Riches method, Rob Colville, shares his tips on how to monetize your finished ebook. You have learned how to write a book and have written it. You have learned how to publish your book, and you have done just that. But selling your finished product is merely the start of and long and illustrious money making journey – but it should not just stop there! Word of mouth is currently one of the foremost ways of generating sales and trumps conventional ‘paid for' advertising hands down. Suffice to say, if a friend, family member or author, who, at most has made an impression on you, or, at the very least, vaguely seems to know what they are banging on about makes a recommendation to purchase a product or service, you are infinitely more likely to pursue it over and above some cheesy, slick and sensual advertisement on television. People have become wary and a little cynical towards the more overt forms of advertising which are involuntarily rammed down our throats day by day. A magazine or television advertisement funded by the very company who is launching it is bound to be skewed. If a product or service was recommended by a third party in the context of a conversation or cunningly imbedded in a relating article or text without the notion of any intended financial gain for the messenger, it is more likely to bulldoze the cynicism and make the recommendation more credible in the process. Let's take a look at an example: Julia's has just finished her eBook on dating. She can easily bolt on several additional income streams to her book, in order to maximise profit potential: Extra income stream 1: Referrals to a ‘preferred' dating website Extra income stream 2: Book/DVD recommendation Extra income stream 3: Creation of a members only club with a monthly subscription charge. So it certainly makes sense to ride this wave as the chances are very high that you will inadvertently be recommending some sort of third party product and service in your eBook. Regardless of what it is, your recommendation will indefinitely have more impact than a generic advertisement and the chances are even more infinite that there will be a vendor somewhere on planet earth who is prepared to reward referrals – but why would you want to give them that honour for free ? You are not a government welfare programme! Simply seek out the vendors who do give commissions and sign up to their affiliate programme so that you can benefit from yet more streams of residual income after the sale of your eBook. There is no reason why you cannot think of any ‘related' products that cannot be shoehorned in to your work of art, even if you do genuinely think that what you have provided is the divine answer and nothing else can possibly compare to it!(read entire article)

How To Create Your Online Business Through Self-publishing   By: rob colville
People are throwing down their tools and sacking their boss in their droves, thanks to the new and buccaneering revolution of self-publishing where even people with no experience in writing or publishing are making money from writing about their hobbies and interests. Imagine getting paid time and again for writing about what you want? Sounds good doesn't it. Thanks to the advent of the internet and the e-book, people are learning how to write and get published, and are tapping into highly lucrative, easily marketable angles in their industry of choice and are getting paid again and again for doing the work once. The chances are that if have a skill, hobby or interest, there is a multi-million dollar industry associated with it, and one which you too can take advantage of while working at home. Unlike traditional printing methods where you had to gain the acceptance and sign a contract with a publishing house, people are simply writing about what THEY want, publishing it in e-form' and uploading it to sell on their own online business. The benefits of doing this are numerous. Not only do writers not have to worry about postage and distribution, they can have their online business automated so that they do not have to do any more work if they sold 100,000 copies of their e-book than if they sold just 2000 copies as clients will be able to automatically download their purchase after payment has been made. Imagine how much easier that is to packing and shipping such vast volumes! Self-published writers with no prior experience are learning how to write a book and how to get published from scratch and are writing their books once, uploading them onto the Internet...and they are doing this anywhere in the world while getting paid again and again from their initial efforts. Take Patryk for example, who is barking mad about dogs. What started off as a simple hobby evolved into years of pleasure where he bought, bathed, and bred dogs. But unfortunately now he no longer has time to give his passion justice so settled to help others and wrote about it in a how to do eBook where he shares his secrets of keeping the costs of dog ownership down while taking their welfare to dizzy new heights. He tells me that without promotion of any kind, he makes anywhere between $1,00 - $2,000 per month from a project he did months ago, whilst receiving letters of gratitude from customers by the sack load. Have a think about what skills, interests and pursuits you can monetize from writing your own ebook. You may be pleasantly surprised how many you come up with!
