But the city is nicknamed as "City of Gardens" as Bangalore has large number of parks and gardens. Bangalore is blessed with a pleasant climate. All these have made Bangalore a city of paradise for the tourists. The advent of large number of information technology companies in the past few decades has also turned the Garden City into a fast growing cosmopolitan city. Now Bangalore is known by several aliases - India's Silicon Valley, Shopper's Paradise, Air-conditioned City, Gourmet's Delight, Shopper's Hot Spot and Pub City. The city was earlier known as Bengaluru and the British rulers changed it to Bangalore. Jaipur, a major tourist attraction for Indian and foreign travellers, is the first planned city in India. It is a part of the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.
