A Buried Treasure: Undue Influence Exposed
Submitted as: Whether it’s Brooke Astor, Jerry Garcia, James Bro
Whether it’s Brooke Astor, Jerry Garcia, James Brown or Anna Nicole Smith, celebrity probate disputes fill both tabloids and Court dockets. However, such dubious distinctions are not exclusive property of those having achieved stardom. Be assured that back on Oak Street, the future of the family business, the distribution of the family’s wealth and the snuffing out of family relations are the sources of emotionally charged arguments staged at your neighbor’s kitchen table, exaggerated by rumors and innuendo at your friend’s wedding reception or exchanged in a string of harsh emails, stored on a jump drive, just waiting to be introduced into evidence. We must learn from the woes of souls passed that we can shape our destiny, build our legacy and protect our aura, or in absence thereof risk the carnage of probate litigation where a fractured family seeks to right the obvious wrong.
Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and it generally doesn’t take long after one’s demise for the smolder to burst into flames. It may start with a disagreement over the planning of the funeral service, the location of the burial, a church or synagogue, open casket or closed, the wording of the obituary, or a missing goblet, but make no mistake, such disagreements stand as a beacon of things to come. Expect thereafter, a surprise Will, a newly inked Will, a missing Will, or an outdated Will being offered for probate. A recently changed beneficiary designation form, odd financial transactions or alleged gifts will follow.
Allegations of promises made and promises broken are proffered as a new lawyer enters the scene, and family members scramble to fight fire with fire. A caveat blocking the Will from being admitted into probate may be filed, and an order to show cause seeking to vacate the Caveat then docketed by the Court…a life’s journey on Trial subject to a discovery schedule, expert reports, motion practice, briefs, mediation and a Trial, all seeking to find the truth which now lies buried - a treasure never to be found but judicially constructed.
Attorneys will argue before a Chancery Judge that undue influence existed because the loved one, in their waning days, lacked free will and was subject to the stronger will of a second spouse or a child. That the now deceased family member yielded to the will of another for the sake of peace, or lacking the energy to push back, or was coerced into changing his or her Will.
A word of caution, Anthony Marshall, who was accused of influencing his late philanthropic mother, Brooke Astor, into changing her Will in his favor, now awaits sentencing for his part in pilfering the Astor fortunes. Respect the Will of another, but should you smell smoke, act promptly as the fire spreads quickly.(read

Digital Inventions That Have Changed Our World
Submitted as: The digital revolution is upon us and it is alteri
The digital revolution is upon us and it is altering the way in which so many things are done.
Here are some of the most monumental changes we have seen to date –
• The Home PC
The home computer had its humble beginnings in the early eighties. C’mon, you can remember (even if you’d prefer not to!) those ZX80’s and ZX81’s that were created by Sir Clive Sinclair! And how about those big, chunky BBC computers which were adopted by so many schools? Talk about solid... You could have used a few dozen of these to build a motorway flyover!
Computers really have come on a long way since then and they are set to get far better in the years to come; touch screen technology, 3D capabilities and a built-in pizza delivery service (What? You didn’t know about that?). It’s all going to get much more exciting yet!
• The Satellite Dish
Analogue TV may have served us well for many years, but digital TV is so much better! When you think back to only having 4 channels (and even fewer before that) to choose from, it makes you wonder how we ever managed to cope at all!
These days we simply have to buy ourselves a satellite dish and we will immediately have hundreds of channels at our disposal!!! Now all we need is an improvement in the quality of our programmes...
• The CD, MP3 and WMA
The digitization of music has been truly revolutionary! Gone are the days of those ‘oh so easily scratched’ 12â€s and ‘forever getting chewed-up’ cassettes. And jolly good riddance too! It would always be your favorites David Bowie tape that got shredded and never your naff Vanilla Ice cassette. Maybe all tape players had an inbuilt ‘inverted quality sensor’...
Of course, CD’s were the first big thing to come along... and now we are even able to create our own Compact Disc recordings!
Some of us may get a little nostalgic when we think back to our much-loved vinyl or cassette collections, but it they just cannot compare to the mega quality and super convenience of today’s MP3’s and WMA’s.
• The DVD, AVI and MPEG
The film industry really was in desperate need of a digital overhaul. Clunky great big VHS tapes were an absolute bore, especially when they entangled themselves around the inner workings of your top-loading VCR!
Of course, the first ‘exciting’ thing to come along was the Laserdisc. This was basically a prototype of the DVD. However, a Laserdisc was the same size as a vinyl album... which people were actively doing away with! Yup, the ‘revolutionary’ Laserdisc was doomed!
But everything was rectified when some bright spark came up with the DVD... and AVI and MPEG files really are the icing on the hard drive!(read

How To Make Your Refrigerator Run More Efficiently
Submitted as: Keep the temperature of your refrigerator to low o
Keep the temperature of your refrigerator to low or medium cool.
Always remember that when you store the packaged food, try not to pack it very tightly. Always let it be a bit loose so that it can get cool easily. This also affects the efficiency of your refrigerator. Keep your refrigerator managed. You should know where you have kept the thing you need or the cabinet that contains the ingredient or the item you are looking for. This reduces the time that you stand in front of your refrigerator with its door open. This leads to refrigerator to lose its coolness and gas.
Keep a regular check on your refrigerator for the gas leaks. This also tends your refrigerator to lose the coolness. This can simple be done by placing a piece of paper between the door and the gasket. If you can pull out the paper easily there can be a gas leak. Get it checked by a refrigerator service. There also can be a need of a gasket replacement.
Make a regular habit of cleaning your condenser once in fifteen days. This condenser is either located at the back or the bottom of the refrigerator and its job is to get rid of hot air. The dirtier the condenser is, the harder the removal of hot air will be. Cleaning the
condenser regularly saves a lot of money. Also remember to clean the fan of the refrigerator too.
Do not use the top of your Viking refrigerator as a shelf. This tends to decrease the air flow and decreases the life of the refrigerator as the refrigerator has a problem in getting rid of the heat.
Always place the refrigerator in a place where the passage of air is easy and a cool place. Also avoid refrigerator to be in direct contact with the sunlight. Regularly defrost your refrigerators. This will also increase the efficiency of your refrigerator.
Try not to fill up your refrigerator from the Viking range, with all the stuff keep always 25% space empty. This increases the air flow in the refrigerator. Cover the liquids in your refrigerator. Liquids, when cooled, tend to release moisture which makes refrigerator compressor to work harder. By applying these few tips on your refrigerator, you can not only make your refrigerator run long but also can elongate the life of your refrigerator.(read

Analogue synthesizers were given prominence in several tracks, and a series of recorded interviews with staff and band personnel provided the source material for a range of philosophical quotations used throughout. Bob Marley & the Wailers Legend LP is still the crme de la crme, the heart and soul of the Jamaican people packed into one five-inch compact disc. Rolling Stones Hot Rocks LP is the rare greatest-hits album that takes on a life of its own. Generally, best-of collections are superceded by updated retrospectives. Hot Rocks LP is one of the rare exceptions to the rule. From "Time is on My Side" through "Satisfaction" and "Let's Spend the Night Together," on to Sticky Fingers's "Brown Sugar" and "Wild Horses," Hot Rocks LP never lets up. The likes of Sucking in the '70s and Jump Back come and go, but this Stones overview will not be moved.(read

The Best Albums Of All Time?
Submitted as: Even so, there are definitely some areas of 'commo
Even so, there are definitely some areas of 'common ground' in the world of music; places where most fans will be able to agree that a few choice albums are standout achievements. So these exceptional titles will be owned by an awful lot of people.
There are a small amount of bands/singers who seem to have a universal and ultra-popular appeal; performers who always get it right, no matter what type of song they are singing into their microphones. And these types of people create albums which will appeal to a far bigger audience; music you will see in a very great number of record collections!
Here are a few examples from that category.
'Tea for the Tillerman' – Cat Stevens
The timeless, searching lyrics of Cat Stevens have reached out to more than just one generation of music lovers. It may now be almost forty years since the release of 'Tea for the Tillerman' but it has certainly not aged one little bit. Cat Stevens’ gentle voice, wise words and beautiful guitar work are a truly winning combination.
'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars' –David Bowie
David Bowie is one of the most influential and stylish singer/songwriters the world has ever seen and 'Ziggy Stardust' is an absolute masterwork. This landmark album is a mountain of the Glam Rock era and it houses some of Bowie’s greatest ever songs!
'Hounds of Love' – Kate Bush
This magical and deeply imaginative album is undoubtedly Mrs. Bush’s ultimate achievement. Every song is a treat to the ears and the production really is spot on. There are so many different instruments, vocals, samples and sounds to enjoy on 'Hounds of Love'. The 1980s would never have been the same without this superb album.
Any Beatles
There's just something very special about the music of The Beatles. It has appealed to both the young and the old for many long years. Just about everyone will have something from the Lennon/McCartney stable; although 'Abbey Road', 'Revolver' and ‘The White Album’ are all commonly-owned favourites.
'Dark Side of the Moon' – Pink Floyd
Undoubtedly one of the most amazing albums ever to have been recorded and it was totally groundbreaking at the time of its release! The Floyd’s sound is still just as distinctive today and their incredibly original songs are loved by music fans the world over. Of course, not everyone will have 'Dark Side of the Moon' in their record collection. they may well have ‘Wish you were Here’ instead!(read

Keeping The Costs Down On Your Commercial Van Insurance
Submitted as: Shopping Around. A lot of us are inclined to be a
Shopping Around.
A lot of us are inclined to be a bit lazy when it comes to looking for an insurance policy and we will often only bother to get quotes from one or two different companies.... However, it is possible to save a substantial amount of money each year simply by taking more time to shop around. Getting prices from a long list of insurers may seem like a tedious business, but it can be well worth it in the long run!
And don’t forget; we are living in the twenty-first century now! Sure, we can still use the telephone to contact insurers, but it will often prove to be pretty time-consuming. That is one of the main reasons why so many people are now –
Buying Commercial Van Insurance on the Net.
It is faster, easier and a whole lot more convenient! Nine times out of ten, an online insurer will be able to beat an offline company’s quote hands down. And let’s be honest, which do you find the most appealing... phoning an insurer and having to write down all of the relevant information or visiting their website and reading through all of the details at your leisure? It’s a no-brainer!
But using the internet is not the only way of lowering the cost of your annual premium; you can also make a big difference by improving on your –
Vehicle Security.
Fitting an alarm or immobiliser to your work van will instantly make it more secure and most insurance companies will be willing to reward you for this. Not only that, but you will also have the knowledge that your vehicle is far less likely to be broken into or stolen if you have upped its security!
And why not think about taking out –
Multiple Policies
- With the same insurance company? If they are providing cover for your van, your home, your car and your pets, then you may well end up with a very good deal indeed. Most insurers will be more than happy to offer you a discount if you are taking out several different types of cover.
You may also be able to reduce the cost of your insurance by taking out protection for –
More Than one Vehicle.
Most insurers will regard three or more vehicles as ‘a fleet’, so if you own a work van and two or more cars, then you may well be eligible for ‘Fleet Insurance’. This will normally prove be a far more inexpensive than taking out separate policies for each of your vehicles. It will also mean having far less paperwork to contend with and you will not have to worry about remembering several different renewal dates!(read

5 Small And Inexpensive Home Improvements
Submitted as: There are all sorts of ways of making improvements
There are all sorts of ways of making improvements to your home and they do not need to leave your wallet bruised and weeping! Of course, if you set about building an extension, installing a billiard room or converting your roof space into a personal gym, then you are going to be looking at mega bucks. However, extra rooms are overrated, gyms will soon become a bore and snooker is just a load of balls...

You will not be limited to boring old white ones either... LED strip lights can be found in just about every imaginable colour!!
3. Furniture Stripping
You can totally transform your wooden furniture or fittings by stripping and sanding them down. All you will need is a scraper and some sandpaper.
However, you will require plenty of patience; this type of work takes a long time to complete if you are going to do it properly...
4. Under-Cupboard Lighting
How many times have you struggled to make yourself a sarnie because the ‘overhead’ light is behind you??? Well, there is a simple answer to this (apart from going without your sandwich...); fit some lights under your kitchen cupboards!

5. Stencils

5 Of The Coolest Hobbies To Have
Submitted as: Of course, it doesn’t really matter one iota what
Of course, it doesn’t really matter one iota what you do with yourself in your spare time, just as long as it’s legal, doesn’t cause any harm and you enjoy it. But if you want to adopt a pastime that will put you up there with society’s finest, then read on.
Here are 5 uber-cool hobbies which have the potential to make you the envy of your whole neighbourhood.
1. Doing Tricks
It’s been a great many years since skateboards and BMX bikes first kicked off (excuse the pun), but they have certainly not lost one single bit of their cool!
They are such a wheelie (sorry) exciting hobby to have and mastering a tough new trick can be a genuinely rewarding experience!
With skateboards or BMXs you can –
Impress your friends!
Wow the ladies!
Lose your teeth!
2. Being in Control
Now, here’s a funny thing.
A remote control helicopter or car will often earn you the respect of your friends. Yet a remote control boat will probably result in a total loss of any street cred you previously had!
It all comes down to speed and excitement I guess. Tearing up the tarmac with a car or corking through the air with a ‘copter is far more exciting than chasing the local ducks with a chug-chug boat.
3. Making Music
Writing and playing your own songs has always been a really cool pastime to have. But one of the best things about it is its flexibility; you can make music with your friends or you can simply choose to go it alone.
Maybe you fancy yourself as the next Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen or Kurt Cobain? Or perhaps you and your buddies have plans to be the new Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division or Wishbone Ash?
Who knows. This could be the start of something really big!
4. Making Art
Anyone has the ability to draw. Okay, so some people may have a natural flair for artistry, but that doesn’t stop everyone else from learning how!
And there are so many different areas to consider in the world of art... graphic novels, tattoos, animation, portraiture, cartoons, caricatures, street art, web design, logo design. The list goes on forever!
You could even trying making a mint by exhibiting your own unmade bed or by sticking sheep in vat full of formaldehyde. No, wait; that’s already been done.
5. Being a Good Sport
As you are no doubt aware, they are oodles of different sports. And each one of these has a continual need for star players! So, do you have what it takes?
If you have the ability to stay underwater for long periods of time, then you could make a great swimmer. Or perhaps your long-distance ball-throwing skills can help you to become the next Ian Botham.(read
