• Hip Replacement
Hip replacement surgery is a procedure in which a doctor surgically removes a painful hip joint with arthritis and replaces it with an artificial joint often made from metal and plastic components. It usually is done when all other treatment options have failed to provide adequate pain relief. The procedure should relieve a painful ...
... hip joint, making walking easier.
• Hip Joint Replacement
Hip joint replacement is surgery to replace all or part of the hip joint with a man-made joint.
Your hip joint is made up of 2 major parts. One or both parts may be replaced during surgery:
• The Hip socket
• The upper end of the thighbone (called the femoral head)
The new hip that replaces the old one is made up of these parts:
• A socket, which is usually made of strong metal.
• A liner, which fits inside the socket. It is usually plastic. Some surgeons are now trying other materials, like ceramic or metal. The liner allows the hip to move smoothly.
• A metal or ceramic ball that will replace the round head (top) of your thigh bone.
• A metal stem that is attached to the thigh bone to anchor the joint.
• Complex trauma
Immediate specialized care of trauma patients is of utmost importance to keep the complications to a minimum.

Joint Fluid Replacement Therapy
Fluid replacement therapy is useful in early stages of arthritis wherein the normal lubricating mechanism present in your knees is lost. Visco-supplement is a lubricating cushion injected between the rubbing bones thus minimizing the pain and discomfort of osteoarthritis. Most patients receiving this treatment have tried exercise, pain medications, or serious (cortisone) injections with little to no significant relief.
Patient is encouraged to resume his/her normal activities within a few hours of this therapy.
Who is a suitable candidate for joint fluid replacment :
• Early stage of arthritis
• Recent increase in pain and swelling without significant trauma
• Patients who want to delay surgery for sometime
