Britons hoping to get their approved electrical qualifications and become an electrician could find that an apprenticeship is extremely beneficial.

The government launched National Apprenticeship Week yesterday (February 1st), which aims to highlight the benefits that come with being an apprentice.

It is also encouraging businesses to make use of the new Apprentice Grant for Employers initiative.

Commenting on the news, Craig Abrahart, operations director at notgoingtouni.co.uk, said that apprenticeship schemes are a "great way" of helping people feel valued and getting them into work.

"You can train and earn money at the same time," he explained.

He added: "You'll find that 80 per cent of people that undertake apprenticeships actually end up in a full time job."
