Maid Of Honour Speeches Say It All

Maid of honour speeches should be thoughtful and thought provoking. After all maid of honours speeches are usually given by someone who is very close to the bride. That may be her sister, her cousin or a friend. Usually though it will be someone who has planned the wedding with her and been very involved in the lead up to the big day. Maid of honour speeches then should reflect that close relationship. What the maid of honour says should show just how much the bride means to her and how much she hopes for great happiness for the couple.
Because they have been involved in the wedding preparations those giving maid of honour speeches will often refer to the mishaps that occur even in the best regulated families when there is a wedding in the house. She can make people laugh at the fact that the florist delivered bluebells instead of roses or that the bride's gown was five inches short and had to be let down the morning of the wedding. Being in the know she can explain that the wedding cake has only two tiers because the groom and the best man decided to sample it and the liked it so much they ate the top tier. The fact ...
... that she is speaking says, of course, that all the mishaps have been overcome and the couple have eventually been married. She may even, in a light-hearted way, claim all the credit for overcoming the problems and say that the bride only selected her as a maid of honour for her ability to handle a crisis.
The maid of honour speeches should be very sincere and express their love for the bride and their wish for every happiness for the couple. She will know of the bride's generosity or kindness and she will talk about the good qualities of her sister, her cousin or her best friend. She will demonstrate how the bride has always been good to her and to others too. Depending on her relationship with the bride she may want to sympathise with the groom over the fact that his wife's cooking leaves a lot to be desired. Obviously she will know the bride well enough to know whether or not she would be offended by such a remark.
Above all maid of honour speeches convey the message that the bride has chosen an ideal husband and that their marriage will certain be one of those made in Heaven.
