Key West, the U.S. island city, located at Florida's southernmost tip, is home to more than a few historical treasures. Famous for its beautiful beaches, Key West offers plenty of ways to enjoy its coastal belt and the beautiful coral reefs via sailing, diving, and snorkeling. One of America's well-known authors, Nobel Prize winner Ernest Hemingway, penned many of his notable works here at his Hemingway House.

Boat Tours: Apart from the famous sunsets, the pristine beaches and the views of the enchanting aquatic underworld, Key West also boasts of some of the best snorkeling and diving points in the country.

● Snorkeling and Kayaking Tours: The Florida Keys Reef is the only living coral barrier reef in North America and is located 7 miles off the coast of Key West. The shallow waters are ideal for beginners to learn snorkeling. Travelers also sign up for kayaking tours that take them through uninhabited mangrove islands.

Museums: Visiting a Museum in Key West is a unique experience because the museums showcase a different part of island culture.

● Guided tours of the Harry S. Truman Little White House, the winter White House for President Harry S, Truman, are quite popular. Visitors can enter the house and view items such as President Truman's briefcase, books, telephone, etc., and go through the various rooms where the former President lived, worked and relaxed.

● Built by Asa Tift who was known as the wrecker tycoon, the Key West Shipwreck Treasure Museum helps you discover a fascinating world through an interactive medium. As a re-creation of a 19th-century warehouse, it's a combination of actors, films and actual artifacts that display the tale of 400 years of shipwreck salvage.

● Built in 1847 and lit by 15 oil lamps, the Iconic Lighthouse helped guide sailors to the island. Today, visitors climb the 88 winding steps to the top and get an amazing 360-degree view of the city and the ocean.

● The legendary Hemingway House has a guided tour of its home and gardens. You can explore the calm environment where Ernest Hemingway wrote many of his works. Apart from the books and furniture, the descendants of Hemingway's polydactyl cats are equally famous.
