The Boxer
As a fan of the boxer breed of dogs. Boxers were bred from the English Bulldog and the now instinct Bullenbisser. They are short and stalky with short hair. They have a boxed shaped muzzle, they have a strong jaw for fighting larger prey. And an overbite. Boxers usually come in the coloring of a fawn, brindle, there also white. Boxers are known to be family dogs for there sharpness and alertness.. They have a suspision to strangers which make them good watch dogs. They have been used for k-9 units, guide dogs thereputic, carrier or message dogs in wars.
With all dogs there are some health problems.. Boxers can get cancer,
epilepsy, hip dysplasia, heart murmurs. There are tests that can be ran to help catch and take care of these health problems. These dogs can also catch the common cold and allergies. In the white breed of boxers there is a 20 percent chance of deafness.
Boxers are an athletic breed of dogs who are very energetic. They need adequate exercise to prevent boredness and resulting in digging and chewing. They have earned a slight rep of being headstrong ...
... but with proper training that is all well.
We own a 2 year old female boxer named Matilda. Let me tell you she is the best. She is friendly and great with my 5 year old boy who also owns a pitbull and my son can be rough at times. She has feelings and when she is upset you will know it cos she will cry real tears. But when she is happy she is bouncy and hyper. Before we got her as a puppy she wasnt very well treated so when we got her she need much TLC. She was a puppy very adventurous and wanted to get into everything. She even ate my feather down couch while we were out. But that stopped when we got her a playmate. Thank God. She is very well behaved and smart.
Matilda loves to go swimming and ice cream and you won this dogs heart. But the best thing is the way she loves to cuddle. She will be in bed right next to you under the blankets sleeping. Matilda enjoys playing in the snow and being outside. She enjoys rides in the car. Better yet my grams italian cooking.. Matilda has had a seizure. It was the most scary thing every but other then that we have been blessed.
Matilda is not a very aggressive dog at all. But when some steps on the porch she lets them know this is her house and she is here. She is very nosey and wants to know all about what is going on.
With that you have met my t.t. and I love her.. So if your choosing a dog for your family i think the boxer may be a good choice for you..
