Your Loved One Should Have The Best In Assisted Living
At some point, many seniors find themselves alone for the first time in their lives. Their spouses have passed on and their children are busy with families of their own. Medical issues may arise as these people age, and the adult children start to become concerned. Sound familiar? If you are at the point of considering the next level of care for an older parent or grandparent, the Oyster Bay Senior Campus on Long Island could be just what you are looking for.
A Welcoming Environment
The family-owned and operated Oyster Bay Senior Campus was established in 1995 and is situated in the scenic Oyster Bay area of Long Island, New York. The facility offers a relaxed, community-oriented environment in which quality of life is emphasized. Both private and shared living accommodations are available in a studio-like setting. Certain staff members are available at any hour of the day or night. For example, there is 24-hour concierge service and 24-hour food service, as well. Residents enjoy a home-like atmosphere in which they can mix and mingle or simply relax with a good book or by watching their favorite TV shows.
Plenty ...
... of Amenities
Much of life at the Oyster Bay Senior Campus revolves around a comfortable central living room where people can gather and enjoy activities. There are also two sun porches, a well-stocked library, outdoor patios and a Koi pond with a rippling waterfall. Your parent or grandparent can expect to see weekly information about entertainment choices and off-campus activities. There are daily stretching and strength-building exercises that the fitness-minded can enjoy, along with chair exercise, yoga and massage therapy. There is restaurant-style dining with an extensive menu that includes special dietary selections, an onsite beauty salon and barber shop, and daily housekeeping and laundry services.
Levels of Care
Four levels of care are available. Level 1 is for the resident who needs very little assistance for daily care, and at Level 2, he or she might need a bit of assistance with showering or bathing. At the other end of the spectrum is Level 4. At this level, a resident might need help going to and from the dining room, for example, as well as assistance with menu selection choices or the cutting of food.
Healthcare Pros on the Premises
The nursing staff at Oyster Bay Senior Campus includes a registered nurse, a medical technician and certified aides. A primary care physician is also available onsite, along with specialists such as an ophthalmologist, podiatrist and psychologist. The services of a physical and occupational therapists and social workers are also provided. The facility offers medication management and pharmacy services and staff will arrange medical appointments for your loved one.
Further Assistance if Needed
In 2000, the founders of the assisted living complex established a facility where care is provided for those with memory disorders and Alzheimer’s Disease. This kind of care may be a next step for some elderly residents. In the meantime, your loved one will remain safe and secure on the Oyster Bay Senior Campus, a most pleasant environment where he or she can enjoy new friends and many daily activities.
