Question: I have decided to leave my job as I am planning to start my own business. I have heard about all of the advantages of buying a franchise but I struck with which one is right for me to start with. Is everyone is prepared to be a franchise? How to understand buying a franchise is the correct decision? should I own a franchisee?

Answer: Starting a business of established franchise system has so many advantages as many people think that it is the best way to start. For many business entrepreneurs, the franchise is the right choice. An established franchisor with strong brand name creates brand recognition among the consumers which then accumulate into immediate customer base.

Every franchisor has an effective business system and marketing strategy and has specialized training programs that teach you how to run the business successfully and support systems that gives assistance and timely advice once you have logged in to the franchise system.

All of the decisions ranging from location look up, developing the location, buying equipments and tools, production, recruiting and managing employees, marketing ...
... tips and other startup questions can be answered by a well established franchisor. Most obviously, the franchisor will give a clear cut idea of investment and working capital to get the business operated.
All franchisees should follow the rules underlined by the franchisor to run the business successfully. If you are not sure that you’re the franchisee material, ask yourself some basic questions:

1. Are you prepared to follow the directions of the franchisor even when you think you are an experienced business man? Are you ready to attend the training program on how to operate from your location?
2. Do you need to experiment with the products and services to secure more customers by taking the products to home of the end user? Even it is not part of the franchisor’s concept.
3. Do you think yourself as a marketing expert? Are you going to change the advertising campaign and information to suit your needs?
4. In a franchise system, you need to work with other franchisees that can share their views and decisions on the business processes, product quality and brand value. Even when you personally do not agree some decisions, you are to follow the majority. Will you able to do this?
5. Field staff of a franchisor will come to visit your location periodically and ask you some questions and show some records on your business records and information. Even when you know that the reason is to help you run the business profitably and successfully. Are you mentally prepared to reveal the information they request and listen to their advice?


If your answer for each question is “yes”, then you are already set foot for entering the franchise system and become an owner of the franchise business.
