JEE Main exam has already been conducted. The aspirants are waiting to give the JEE Advanced exam. There are a limited number of seats in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NIT), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT) and other Government Funded Technical Institutions which take admissions through JEE Main and JEE Advanced. While the number of students that appears in these exams is out of proportion. Out of around 10 lakh candidates, only 50,000 candidates will be able to get a seat in the IITs/NITs/IIITs/GFTIs.

With such a low probability of getting a seat in these institutions and a high level of competition, it is advisable to the aspirants to keep a backup plan. There are other good institutions also which are worth considering to take admission. There are some renowned institutes which conduct their entrance examination for intake of students in an engineering degree course.
