Here's how you can create great content for your blog:

1. Define your audience. Be smart and start the whole process by defining the people who'll most likely to visit your website. Are they men or women? What is their age bracket, occupation, and educational background? What are the elements or things that can target their emotions? How can you possibly get them to pay attention? What are their problems and struggles in life? You'll become a better blogger if you have a very clear idea about the people that you're writing for.

2. Choose your topics wisely. Go with topics that are relevant to your blog's theme. If it's about affiliate marketing, then don't go write about vacations and holidays as these will not help you establish your expertise in your chosen niche and these will surely not help you attract those people who are most likely to buy from you.

3. Plan ahead. Make your blog posts sound like they were well thought-out. Before you sit down and start pounding on your keyboard, ask yourself "What is it that I would like to impart to my audience?" "How can I easily get my message across?", "How ...
... can I make sure that I will not confuse my readers?"

4. Research. Although it's perfectly fine to write your blog posts based on your stocked knowledge and gut feel, it will be better to your online image if you research your topics thoroughly. You would like your blog posts to come out very informative and you want them to help you convince your readers that you've got in-depth knowledge in your chosen niche, right?

5. Spill the beans. You want your blog to become an instant hit in the online arena? Then, share your in-depth knowledge to your readers. Tell them exactly what they would like to know about each time you write a blog post. Share with them your secrets or the techniques on how to get something done quickly. The more you offer useful and good-to-know information to your audience, the more likely they'll come back for more.

6. Develop great writing skills. Aside from being known as someone who's very knowledgeable in your chosen niche, you also want your audience to consider you as a great writer -- someone who can offer them with great reading experience. Mind your grammar and get your spelling right each time you tap on your keyboard. Ensure that your writing style will represent you as someone trustworthy in the online arena.

7. Keep your readers interested. You don't want your visitors to quit reading your articles too soon, right? So, instead of saving the good stuff for your last paragraph, I suggest that you offer it first so you can hold your readers' attention. It will also help if you write simply and if you use conversational tone. Don't forget to share personal interesting stories and offer examples that will possibly engage your readers and get them to read your articles until the end.

8. Use catchy titles. Learn the ropes of creating titles that will send a strong impression that your articles are "must-read" Your titles must communicate the benefits that your audience can get once they check out your content.

9. Keep it short. Carefully choose each term that you're going to use on your articles. Make sure that they can help you communicate your thoughts and ideas in a very concise manner. You don't want to fill your articles with fillers and nonsense information as these will surely drive your readers away. Of course, it will help if you focus on one specific topic for each post that you create so you can keep it short as much as possible.

10. Make it scannable. You don't honestly believe that your visitors will read your blog posts word for word, right? These people are most likely to skim through your content and look for keywords that will take them to the information that they really need. Make this task a lot easier for them by simply making your blog posts scannable. Do this by using short paragraphs and subheadings. List down your how-to, tips, and guides using numbers and bullet lists.

11. Do not resort to blatant ads. Although you're free to talk about your products and your services on your blog, I'd say don't push it. People simply hate it when you sound like a nagging telemarketer or when they feel that they're reading an infomercial. A better way to sell your product is to inform and help your readers first. Convince them that you know where they're coming from and that you understand their problems from inside out. This would surely help in winning their trust and confidence. You can then offer them solutions that require the need of the products that you're selling. Again, remember to do it subtly. You don't want to sound like you're hard selling.
