Call Center Companies Inside View Of Getting Job In India
Atypical Call Center Design
Most call centers have relatively modern equipment, but in recent years I have seen an outbound call center that consisted of rows of rectangular folding tables, such as those set up at family reunions. Each table featured four call center employees, separated by rubbing bulkheads and elbows while making hundreds of calls on old corded phones.
Although many call centers are located in a large room, I interviewed for an authorized call center position in a small office suite, where the cubicles were arranged in a circular format, stadium and a large TV Was suspended from the ceiling in the center of the den-sized room.
I've seen a huge temporary call center, featuring employees transported from all over the country, and I've never seen a more sordid call center, not even close. In the summer there was no air conditioning, but hundreds of people were packed into tiny cubicles the size of small offices. For some reason, they used two computers instead of opening multiple windows on one monitor, and as a result, two keyboards overlapped in the tiny cubicles. Employees typed two sloping ...
... keyboards while answering policy questions on several lines.
This call center was built in haste, and sons hung everywhere, touching my shoulders and my legs. Worse yet, in the stifling heat, people were cooking vegetables in an adjacent kitchen, resulting in an incredible odor due to poor ventilation.
The building was dirty, unlike the ultra-chic office building, where we trained before arriving at our final destination call center. Everyone supposedly had an authorized professional; I was certainly bound to submit evidence. As with other call centers, the exterior of the building suggests a pleasant working environment, proving once again that you can not judge a call center by its coverage, especially in this economic climate.

Large enterprise call centers often track employee performance by projecting statistics on monitors that surround the room or are mounted centrally in a square format, making statistics visible to all booths. The monitors look like flat screen televisions, and perhaps, this design uses shame as a motivational tool, not that it still works.
You can see the number of calls colleagues have made and if someone's sales are low or high, which offers the possibility of call center glory, not that productive employees usually have decent wages or security of a company, employment. Call centers have notoriously high turnover rates, having little to do with the typical call center decor, which consists of neutral wall color, dotted with motivational posters in black metal frames.
Cubicle Garden Labyrinth
This spacial setting is a call center staple, helping to maximize space in large call centers. The cabins form an interwoven labyrinth with narrow, interior corridors that resemble grooves in garden labyrinths. However, instead of lush vegetation, the cabin walls feature interior carpeting in an assortment of neutral colors, such as beige, gray or, if you are lucky, charcoal. Charcoal is a better choice because of its dark tone, which helps conceal coffee stains in layers over the years.
Sectional Groups
All call centers are inspired by the dark architecture of government buildings, but since the private sector must respond to changing market conditions, improvised and forked call centers sometimes appear in more structured contexts.
Sometimes, three call centers operate in different parts of a building - some employees receive incoming customer service calls, while others make outbound calls from collections or sales calls. Due to fluctuating business budgets or perhaps due to loudness, sales staff are sometimes grouped in small units away from other sections, but the color of the cell varies rarely.
