I know how you're feeling. I remember what it was like. I tried and failed my first driving test and I will tell you - not only was it embarrassing, it also made it a whole lot harder for me to get out and give it another shot. It took me four months to get over the fact that I did not pass and I'm not about to let that happen to you too.

It was the night before the test. I had spent four hours practicing during the day. I hardly blinked an eyelid. I wanted to perform every manoeuvre perfectly. I was nervous as can be and my eyes would simply not shut. My whole body was sweating and I was having surges of heat. My throat was dry. My body was telling me that sleep was not an option. I picked up a book and read through the night.

By now, it was a minute two hours until my exam. I was being force fed brunch by my mother. She didn't want to deprive me of food before the big day. I was tired and grumpy but I knew that there would be no way that I would make it to sleep until I got it over and done with.

I was now in the car, on my way to be tested. My mind went blank. I couldn't remember ...
... anything that my parents had taught me. My brain was barely functional due to lack of sleep. I could already predict that I was not going to do so well.

My results showed my psychic abilities. I didn't even come close to passing. My friends asked me how I went. I told them the truth and they laughed at me. They had all passed first time. I laughed with them but on the inside, I was really hurt. I had lost a huge amount of confidence. I knew that if ever I managed to motivate myself to try again, something would have to change.

I struggled for four long, hard months. I just had no clue. I didn't know what to do. My parents eventually sat down and spoke to me and asked if everything was okay. I told them the whole story and they encouraged me to take my time, relax and to find some material that could help me on the Internet. To help motivate myself, I set a date that I would give the exam another crack. Two months after my discussion with my parents, 10th July.

I spent the whole first month trying my hardest to find some material that I would be able to learn from. I found tonnes of written resources but I decided that I needed something more. I find reading boring and I can never quite manage to get everything to gel. I needed demonstrations. After months of slog, I finally found what I was looking for. I found a video course that showed me everything that I needed to know within a matter of hours. After watching the course a couple of times, I was confident that I was going to pass. And I did.
