In a mini-tummy tuck, the surgeon makes a large incision across your lower abdomen to separate the skin from the abdominal wall before cutting the excess fat and skin away. The remaining skin is pulled together before it is stitched in place.

You may need to stay overnight in the hospital after the procedure and stay in bed with pillows under your knees and your head elevated to draw tension away from the abdomen. Stitches will be removed after one to two weeks if the surgeon did not use dissolvable threads. It usually takes around two weeks for the wounds to heal, and during that time, you may need to walk stooped and wear a supporting corset.
