With 6.4 million people in population, Indiana is one state that should not be skipped when you visit the US. It is home to the NFL's Colts, NBA's Pacers, and the Indianapolis 500 motor sports race. In addition, this area has a historic background because of the Native Americans who used to reside there during the mid-1700s.

Amidst the athletic events and historical background, this state is known to have humid climates with blistering snowfalls and scorching summers, which is bad when it comes to your home. These ever changing climates can cause serious damage to your place and to yourself.

There are certain areas where it rains or snows harder than in other parts of the state. That is why water damage in Indiana can be quite common. The difficult thing about water damage is that once it gets into your hardwood floor, it will leave awful stains and lessen the quality of the wood instantly. Here are a couple of tips on how you can go about fixing your wooden floor without having to replace them.

A way to remove the stains from the surface of the wood would be to use a soft cotton rag and an auto-polishing ...
... compound. Another substitute for the polishing compound would be toothpaste or tobacco ash mixed with mineral oil.

For the deeper black stains, the first thing to do would be to remove the surface's finish. Sandpaper would be the proper tool for this task. Make sure that you don't sand the entire area, just until the border of the wood. Next pour on mix acid crystals on the stain, wait until it dries in order to remove the crystals. Repeat the step until stain is completely unseen.

This job could be tedious and time consuming so if ever you don't have the patience or time to do it, the best thing to do would be to call on the professionals to help you out. Do not allow the water damage in your Indiana home to get the best of you. There are always ways to prevent it or deal with it.
