It helps the doctors to create visual representations of the interior of a body for clinical analysis.
Some Imaging Techniques:
X-RAY
CT SCAN
MRI SCAN
ULTRASOUND
X-rays are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, with wavelengths shorter than visible light. Different applications use different parts of the X-ray spectrum.it helps doctors to inspect the bone injury.
CT (computerized tomography) scan is a combo of X-ray images taken from different angles to make cross-sectional images of internal body part like head, lungs, heart and Abdomen. CT scan helps doctors to do the proper Diagnoses due to its high accuracy. During the test, you will lie on a table that is attached to the CT scanner, which ...
... is a large doughnut-shaped machine. The CT scanner sends X-rays through the body area being studied. Each rotation of the scanner provides a picture of a thin slice of the organ. All of the pictures are saved as a group on a computer.
MRI scan is the process used by health professionals of the modern age to produce extremely detailed pictures of the inside of a person's body, mostly the chest, abdomen etc. This is achieved with the help of magnetic field and radio waves and is primarily used for diagnosis and treatment. During the test you will lie down on a table that slides into the MRI machine. The table slides through a large magnet shaped like a tube. After the table slides into the machine, a technician will take several pictures of your brain, each of which will take a few minutes.
ULTRASOUND uses sound waves to produce images of the internal organs of the body. Ultrasound scanning uses a small transducer and ultrasound gel which is directly placed on the skin. After that High-frequency sound waves are transmitted from the transducer through the gel into the body. The transducer collects the sounds that bounce back and a computer then uses those sound waves to create an image. Ultrasound helps the doctors for diagnostics the cause of pain, swelling and infection in the internal organs of the body. It helps to examine babies in pregnant women. It’s also used to help guide biopsies, diagnose heart conditions, and assess damage after a heart attack. Ultrasound is safe and painless
