Piling is an essential technique in the infrastructure sector which is used to strengthen the base of any construction. All the tall buildings which are ever built, large constructions, bridges, houses or any other constructive body requires a strong foundation. Lack of strong foundation can lead to disastrous results such as collapsing or severe crack running through the structure. Piling is a technique which sets deep foundation and ensures the safety of the building and every one in it. The method involves inserting a post-like foundation member which is made of either timber, steel or concrete and is driven in the ground. A pile goes through a bunch of processes while it is being turned into the base of the structure. The process also involves other components like Prestressed Rock Anchors, concrete, wood, excavation equipment, construction machinery, etc.

The Process:
Piling is an intricate technique which is spread across a number of steps which eventually form a strong base for the buildings. The highlight of the process is listed below:

a. The pile has a lifting lug which is gripped for lifting the ...
... pile with a construction vehicle. The
pile is grounded in the soil, so it is lifted completely well-above the ground before inserting it in the dug holes in the ground. While doing so, it is made sure that the pile is straight and not disoriented as it can endanger the foundation.

b. Once the pile is secured at a proper height and orientation, it is then hammered in the ground. A heavy duty drop-hammer is used to conduct this process which hammers the pile 25 mm a drop.

c. While the hammering process is undergoing, the soil around the pile is displaced by laborers. This is done to ensure that the pile is not getting interrupted by any soil layer while it is being grounded.

d. Once the pile is hammered into the ground, welded and properly fixed, excavation work is done around the pile shaft to remove the extra soil. The Excavation Contractors provide the machinery & the lorries required for the excavation work.

e. A pneumatic hammer is then used to crush the concrete in the pile while it is excessive than necessary and is required to be cut. The steel reinforcements in the pile are cut down with an oxy-cutter, after which the pile dismantles completely.

f. Post the excess pile segment is removed, a plywood framework is constructed around the pile while has steel reinforcement bars in it. Once the framework is set, it is filled with concrete and vibrated till the concrete is tightly fixed in the framework.

The structure is left to dry out and is then removed to get a strong piling cap which acts as the foundation member of the structure. Manav Infra Pvt. Ltd. Is among the top Piling Contractors in Mumbai which provide all the necessary equipment required for the piling process.
