Oakton Family Dentistry – Your Smile Starts Here
Dental Implants
Dental Implants have become the gold standard for tooth replacement in dentistry since the early 1980’s, this is because they are versatile and predictable. Dental Implants are made of titanium, one of the most co-compatible materials on the market which means even an individual with a metal allergy is still a likely candidate for implant treatment. An implant functions as the root of the tooth and the top portion of the tooth can be a single crown, part of a bridge to replace multiple teeth or used for a denture or partial denture attachment.
Root Canal
A root canal is needed when damage occurs to a tooth’s pulp. This can happen due to injury or due to severe tooth decay. A root canal is often a dreaded procedure but this can be an alternative to a tooth extraction and can be a very effective way to eliminate tooth pain. While root canals can take two or more appointments, your Oakton Family dentist will work to make each appointment as comfortable as possible for you; we strongly believe in practicing gentle dentistry.
The extent of the procedure and effectiveness will depend on ...
... how extensive the tooth damage is. During the root canal treatment, the area is assessed and then the damaged and dead pulp is removed and the area is then sealed.
TOOTH WHITENING
Non-professional whitening treatments are over the counter products such as strips and toothpaste. These products vary in their price, difficulty of use and effectiveness.
Philips Zoom professional whitening is a fast, effective and safe way to whiten your teeth. Your dental professional will either apply the treatment for you, or fit you with customized trays so you can do the treatment at home.
INVISALIGN
Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth.
Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You simply pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete and you achieve the confident smile that you’ve always wanted.
VENEERS
Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that fits over your tooth. It’s bonded on to your existing teeth so it’s very strong. Porcelain is the BEST material known to man to replicate our enamel. Here at Oakton Family Dentistry, we have done over 50,000 veneer procedures; feel confident and trust your mouth will be taken care of with our professionals.
