A Year In Office!-00-5202
Well that was a fast year since Obama took over as president.
Let's take a quick look here to see what Mr. Obama has done to help us with the situation of the world.
He has banned the enhanced interrogation method, which was used by Bush, and proven to work. The intelligence Agency said that the enhanced interrogation method was one of the best methods to get information from a terrorist. IT's gone NOW.
The Christmas Day attack with the terrorist who had bombs sewn into his clothes, Obama himself has said that they had the information that it was going to happen but they didn't connect the dots in time to stop it before he boarded. Sounds like a game to me!
The Obama administration has decided to close Guantanamo bay in Cuba, and a new prison will be started in Illinois for terrorists. Terrorists will be moved from Guantanamo to the Illinois facility. They also want to have the terrorists go to trial in a civilian court. I don't like the idea of any of this, I feel Americans are safer with the terrorists being in Cuba and I also feel the military should see to the ...
... terrorists, Isn't that what Homeland security and the anti terrorist task force are for.
Cash for clunkers. Not only has this plan helped consumers by trading in high mileage gas guzzlers for a more economical vehicle but it also helped the car manufactures, by putting money into their industry so they wouldn't fail, go bankrupt and put thousands of people out of work.
One of the best things I feel Obama has done is the mothers back to school. This will help single mom's get a good education, get a degree a good paying job (if there's any jobs left) and get them out of the welfare system. Included in this is being able to get grants for online school, so mothers can still stay home and take care of their babies.
As of the end of the year, the bureau of labor statistics reported that 4.1 million people had lost their job in the year 2009. I don't really think we can put the blame on Obama for this one; he came into office with the job market declining rapidly. Another thing to remember is the great depression was from 1929 to 1939 and in 1933 it was the record year for no jobs with a little over 25% of the population being out of work, compared to only 10% today.
I have to say, I feel sorry for him, He came into a mess. We are and were at war, we were in the middle of a recession (or so they say, I still think it was the beginning of a depression), the whole economy was turned upside down. He's done a pretty good job so far. There's a few things I don't agree with but, if we were all in agreement on everything the world would be a pretty quiet and boring place to be.
Take care and have a blessed day!
