Benefits Of Having A Fire Extinguisher In Your Car
Research suggest that nearly 20% of the fire accidents that occur around the world occur in a motor vehicle. If you are a car owner, this statistic would suggest how vulnerable you are to a car mishap caused by fire. Fire in a motor vehicle can be caused due to a variety of reasons and in most cases you may get some warning signs, in some cases the fire can start with no warning whatsoever. If you want to keep yourself and your family protected from any fire incident it is important that you keep your car well equipped to counter the fire.
One of the most common causes of car fire is faulty electrical system, which is more often than not linked to the car battery. While the battery is charging, hydrogen gas tends to get accumulated under the hood and the frayed wiring in the battery can trigger the fire, which in turn can set everything ablaze. Although, you may do a regular maintenance check on the battery, it is nearly impossible to prevent the fire. But, having a fire extinguisher in your car can prevent casualty and reduce the damage to your car.
One of the key factors in keeping your motor vehicle running smoothly and in good shape is regular maintenance. Several people around the world do not understand the importance of period check-up and maintenance of their vehicle. Consequently, they face several problems like frequent break-downs, leakages, broken parts, frayed wiring. All these conditions put your car at risk of igniting a fire.
Often, you see that the car is set ablaze right after a collision or an accident. This happens because the powerful impact leads to internal damage like gas or oil leaks. The heat created from the friction increase the chances of the car catching a fire.
Every motor vehicle has its own limitations in terms of the maximum speed and the carier capacity. However, some people tend to overlook the limitation and have the tendency to push their car to its maximum limit like driving it in extreme weather condition or driving too fast for a prolonged period. All these factors cause excessive stress on the engine. When the engine becomes too hot, the chances of part failures increases, which in turn increases the risk of fire.
Sometimes, certain motor vehicles have an inherent design flaw, this is especially true with some of the new models that are built from group up. It often takes a lot of testing time and customer complaint before the flaws are discovered. However, this would prove to be too late and it would have already lead to a few car accidents.
With so many reason for a car to catch fire, it only makes sense to equip your car with a fire safety gear and a fire extinguisher to take control of a mishap. You surely would not want to find yourself off guard in case of an emergency fire and feel hapless about it. Ensuring safety against fire can save the lives of your loved ones.
