Summer Infused Water Recipes

In the summer a cool and cold water filtration system can make those hot temperatures a little more bearable. However, while pure water is delicious, there is a way to make your water even more enjoyable, with infusions. An infusion can not only provide a refreshing, delicious beverage, but it can also offer some health benefits. Here are just some ideas you may enjoy this summer.
Complete Detox:
Water is the ultimate detox drink; it can help to keep your mind feeling clear and your body feeling properly hydrated and functioning correctly. However, you can take your detox to the next level this summer with this delicious infused water. You will need;
One lime
One lemon
½ cucumber
A dozen mint leaves
500 millilitres of filtered water
Cut the lemon, lime, and cucumber into thin slices. Add them to a jug with the mint leaves and cover with the water. Allow your water to infuse in the refrigerator for at least eight hours or overnight. Sip the infused water the next morning for a refreshing detox.
The lemon and lime will provide you with a vitamin C boost. The mint reduces ...
... inflammation and provides improved digestion. This should leave you feeling revitalised and ready for the rest of your day.
Berry Cocktail:
This infused water is perfect for kids and adults alike. The berries create a sweet treat, which is a perfect alternative to the sugary squash your kids may pester you for. Regular squash and soda can contain numerous teaspoons of sugar. This can not only cause dental issues but can cause irritation and an energy slump, which makes the summer holidays even more stressful. However, the natural sweetness of the berries will make this a real fruity treat for everyone to enjoy. You will need;
50 grams of raspberries
50 grams of strawberries
A couple of mint leaves
Filtered water
Squash the berries in the bottom of a glass jug and cover with approximately 500 millilitres of boiled filtered water. Add in your mint leaves and allow the liquid to cool. Leave your jug in the refrigerator to infuse overnight and in the morning, you will find you have a pink and delicious infused cocktail. You can either strain the fruit pulp from the water or leave it in for an additional vitamin boost.
A Taste of Winter:
When we are in the depths of summer, many of us long for the cooler winter days. This infusion provides a refreshing taste of winter, which is hydrating and delicious even on the hottest summer days. You will need;
Half an orange
One cinnamon stick
Filtered or spring water
Put the cinnamon stick in a small pan with a little water and allow it to simmer for approximately fifteen minutes. During this time you will notice that the water develops a coppery colour. Slice the orange half and add to the pan, before allowing the concoction to cool. This will create a powerful cinnamon orange cordial which can be diluted with filtered water or sparkling spring water for a refreshing taste of winter.
