The town of Kabul is the capital and regarded as the largest town in

Afghanistan. The town of Kabul is a well-liked name in the travel circuit, not

generally in the positive sense of the word. News would

regularly refer to the town of Kabul as not a secure place to remain. But

for the more bold traveler, the town of Kabul is a frontier that needs

to be checked and visited.

The town of Kabul is an old one and has many stories to tell as well. The history of Kabul dates

back to above 3000 years. And throughout that time span, the town has been destroyed and rebuilt once more on many sites. Kabul was conquered by the Arabs in

the 7th century and this was then overshadowed by the Ghazni and the Herat until the town

of Kabul was made as the capital by the Babur. The town remained under the reins of the Mughal rule

until the capture by Nadir Shah.

Before this time, the town of Kandahar was the center and the capital of Afghanistan. But by the year 1773, the

town of Kabul replaced Kandahar as the center and the capital of the country. ...
... The town of Kabul has many

historic buildings and establishments built through the years. As an example the tutorial middle of Kabul was the university, and there are a

number of colleges and fine museums in the town as well . The

college in Kabul was established in 1931. Kabul is also known for its Babur's

crypt and gardens, and also the tomb of Nadir Shah. The column of

independence that was built in 1919 can be discovered in Kabul also. The tomb of

Timur Shah is in the area as well and this ruler ruled from 1771 until 1793. The Afghan wars were also a popular event in the history of the town.

During these wars, Brit armed forces took Kabul in 1839. The year 1842 was

urgent as well in the history of the town as the withdrawing Brit troops were

ambushed after the Afghans have promised safe passage for them. Due to this event, the

Brit force partly burned Kabul. The year 1979 saw the entry of Soviet forces to help
